My best friend has that geometric set and uses it daily! I saw so many pieces of vintage corningware at a junk sale event here in Oregon this weekend! Thatās so cool, you have researched all the vintage Corning and corelle ware!
somehow missed this video so now to watch lol
Are you on drugs or just cannot be still with all that twitching.
You were literally in my stomping ground. I'm
Glad you enjoyed thrifting in NN.
Hey Amber! You can can the asparagus, sweet taters and taters.
Yes! Keeping the Asparagus in cold water (you can throw some ice cubes in with it) will help preserve it. Keep them standing up with just the lower half in the water (Iām jealous of all that asparagus!) My parents always liked Eggplant Parmesan (basically the same as the chicken version only using eggplant) and the eggplant is breaded and fried for thatā¦soā¦it might help! I donāt like eggplant in any kind of way, at all. But, for me, cooking or eating raw can make something taste good. I hate cooked carrots, love raw ones for example.) Isnāt your husband a veteran? Can he shop at the base store (always great dealsā¦a good friend when I lived in CA was in the AF and would take me shopping with her at the base sometimes, fantastic bargains and no tax. She had to buy the stuff and then I just gave her the money, and she was allowed to do that, unless rules have changed, it was totally legal and okay.) Check out that Pyrex for the imprint on it to see if itās the ārealā Pyrex glass (that doesnāt explode occasionally like the new stuff) and will last forever!!!! If you ever see Nordic Ware baking pans in good shape at the thrift store, those are the absolute best baking pans ever!!! They have to be hand washed and donāt need any spray. Oh, woot! You found the vintage Pyrex!!! I found a few pieces at our local thrift store. Your fear is realā¦my mother died when I was young, had just graduated college. She kept EVERYTHING so we had hundreds of boxes to go through. We knew what the good stuff was to keep (all the fancy china, silver, etc) but didnāt see a need to keep things like: every last thing youād need to can food. I know thatās gone, and probably a lot of other stuff. My brother and I were having a hard time doing it because so many things would bring back a memory, and it was taking forever and very emotionalā¦so my sister-in-law went through it, so I donāt even know whatās gone. So, maybe make a list, Amber, for your kids so they know what to look for to keep.
Put the ham in a cold water bath. It thaws in hours. Restaurant safe method
Amber I love vintage cookware! I collect it to and cast iron as well. I really enjoyed this video and would love to see your collection. Thanks ā¤
Cut about an inch off the Apparagus before standing in water. Use a plastic bag loosely over them, put in refrigerator.
2 days in the fridge should thaw the ham. If you are going to break it down into steaks you should be able to do that tomorrow.
I take ham's when they are on sale and pressure can them. Every little bit counts; I take the ham bones and make ham broth to pour over the ham and can the left over broth as well. I use them for pinto beans and collard greens. I use the broth to change out the water in cornbread.
That's at least $150 in food!! Using Samsclub prices ….asparagus, potatoes sweet potatoes, melons, and whole ham! Easy $90 just for that!
I'm satisfied with eating out of ole tin pans like back in the 1800's…
I do all my cooking with my iron skillet and stew pot. Brew my pipping hot strong black bcoffee over the stove Yummy š
Don't need to crowd up the kitchen with the latest Gizmo's or dishes.
I'm not having anyone over for Dinner anyway.
Saves tons of money and a lot of aggravation.
Try it sometime missy ……

Amber you forgot to show us the bowls you got w Josh that are on ebay for $200.
Those dishes are awesome. I have several pieces of my moms Pyrex, Fire King, and Anchor Hocking. She had a mint condition, never used Amish butter print bowls. I got them and kept them. I love that kind of stuff too.
If you do not like eggplant by itself, try making Moussaka. Even eggplant haters usually like it. š
You got some quality stuff from the food pantry. Yes cut the ends off the asparagus and put the ends In a glass of water to keep it fresh . Make eggplant parm . Bread and fry eggplant . Make sure to put on paper towels to absorb the grease because it soaks up the oil, put sauce and cheese on top and bake in oven 375 for about 30 minutes until itās hot and cheese is melted. I love eggplant but canāt eat it because so many seeds . I have several Corning wear pieces that are pretty old . Never realized it was worth money.
Thatās crazy on the bowls without seeing them. I have so much good stuff like clothing, jewellery, toys, books etc from the local charity shops – thrift shopping.
Have you watched the home school picking and part time picker? Kayla and Matt have find and sell things from thrifting, yard sales, estate sales, auctions etc. they do keep some things too.
I'd love to buy that dish with the lid and the bouquet pattern. So pretty!
My name is cammy, all beautiful dishes,i have a few dishes and my crackpot is very old and it works still until I save money for a new one or instant pot. Have a great day, some great finds.
Great food haul. I love cabbage. Your thrift store haul is wonderful, I love all that stuff. I thought I was a crazy person but now I realize I am not alone š
Cut the tough ends of the asparagus and put in water in the refrigerator and it will last a long time. You can dehydrate the hard ends and powder to add to recipes or just feed to your chickens
