You look amazing Cassey! Love your curls! Congratulations for not getting off the wagon through the stall, I know it's mentally hard for us who are also trying to loose weight
You did it, got me fasting with you! Day four here I go. Good bye stall!! We ordered our ketomojo too… You also familiar with the sardine fast?
Morning peeps.
I originally wrote that I would commit to at least a 24hr, possibly a 36hr fast. BUT I havenโt done thatโฆ.
As of today, Iโm 72hrs on a water and salt fast only!!!
If it wasnโt for your challenge, I wouldnโt have thought to challenge myself like this, thank you. Iโm gunning for 5 days, weโll see, I might even go longer, Iโll see how I feel.
How are you both getting on?
Thanks again, keep up the inspirational content ๐ฅฐ

Are you being supported by a physician? I thought we shouldnโt fast more than 72hrs without medical supervision.
Looking Good guys!

On the coffee and electrolytes-forgot to mention- add electrolytes to your coffee, but less than normal to start. Since you are using packets start with a teaspoon to taste add more if wanted. Caution about this, warm water and electrolytes can stimulate the bowels and coffee is a natural laxative. So for some people this can cause disaster pants, so proceed cautiously. If you are physically busy, hydrating with electrolytes will help the hunger and a little coffee will too(coffee is a natural appetite suppressant). It can help when cooking to have a electrolyte coffee 15 minutes before to help resist. On the hunger it is normal to have waves of hunger every day, Ghrelin is the hormone that tells your body you are hungry, and increases your appetite. It is also the hormone that signals Human growth hormone. If you resist and your hunger subsides, that is a clear signal your body is working, as you have released energy from your cells either glucagon or fatty acids and if enough fat you have created Leptin, which tells your brain you are full. YIPEE! Remember, hunger can be mental too as you know, but it can be triggered by the obvious, smells and pictures of food and sweet tastes(why no flavored water on first day of fast can help decrease the hunger). You are strengthening your resolve muscle, very commendable. Also just know after 3 day extended, having that empty feeling can be confused with hunger too, warm water with a little electrolyte can help that sensation too.
Do you guys use Salted or non salted butter?

I've had a blood ketone monitor for a couple of months. When I stopped seeing ketones in the urine I needed something to detect ketones if only for the psychological reason. Anyways, you will not regret getting the ketone monitor.
Great job on the fasting. I can't even do 36 hour fast. But I fast for 24 hours every week.
You guys rock! I'm so grateful I found your channel to follow. I'm on the struggle bus but hanging in there. SO happy for your news, can't wait for more updates.
Rock on, you two! 5 days is my personal best. KetoMojo is a great product with phenomenal support. Youโre in my thoughts & prayers bec it feels like I โknowโ you guys. A great community.
You two are amazing! So glad for you. I'm still going, just getting into fasting.
I completed my 1st 3 day fast. Liquid fast, more than water. Minimal hunger pains. I eat over the weekend. My 1st day I lost 10lbs in fluid. By the 3rd day I lost 4 solid lbs. I'm motivated to do another 3 day/5 day. It's easier to do it during my work week and eat on the weekends. I'll let you know how my 2nd week go.
Great job guys
Y'all are really looking skinny!! GREAT JOB! ๐I started carnivore this past September and found your channel and followed ever since. Thanks for the great advice, ups and downs! ๐
I've done a number of fasts, two of which were longer than a week. The first long fast was 40 days. I felt great, cravings disappeared, and I truly felt like my body had healed on many levels. My immune system returned from a pretty bleak state, and I believe I reduced my visceral fat immensely as my organs felt better. Hard to explain, but yes my gut region felt cleansed &free.
Overall I lost 85+ lbs, however, upon refeeding I rebounded up 22lbs for a few days, and then settled back down to a fifteen lb regain, for a loss of ~70. I wasn't glued to the scales or the calendar – It just started naturally from an intermittent fast and I decided to keep going. So my exact starting weight and date aren't exact. I can say it was at least 40 days and I lost 70+lbs after it was all said and done. I had no real side effects or negative responses. I felt like I had uncovered the secret to regaining my health!
So I enjoyed some food entertainment, and while I wasn't completely out of control, I did slowly allow bad habits to revitalize. But! Not to worry – I'll just do another fast and all will be right with the world. So I embarked on a 30-day fast, however this time was very different. I ahd a lot of family functions and I was exposed to food a lot more. One example was serving pizza for my granddaughter's birthday. I was doing the serving! I would remember having a single bite of crust, and it never seemed to have any effect. In hindsight these situations of being in such close proximity to food, even though I never actually ate any (other than the pizza crust and maybe one or two similar one bite blunders) I began to feel weak – not dizzy hungry weak, but rather physically meager. Aching joints and gaunt looking skin, I stopped my fast at around 30 days. I had lost weight, but I didn't lose all that much fat. My sizes hadn't changed near as much as my initial fast.
Upon refeeding I was a trainwreck of the rails but still charging ahead into food. My newfound cure for fat loss turned out to be a false sense of hope as there were some serious aftereffects:
1. With my new "it's easy to lose fat" mindset, I regressed into bad eating habits. I felt I could treat myself and then just do another fast to lose it all and more!
2. I also underestimated my poor relationship with food, and my body's evolutionary power to save me from myself. This only elevated my emotional eating etc.
The result: Once I started refeeding my cravings I was a runaway train with no ability to regain my intermittent fasting or carnivore lifestyle. Couple that with my body's response to another famine, and I was eating and storing fat at an unusually high rate.
In hindsight the two fast were very different. Here's what I learned: by being in such close proximity to food – cooking and serving, I believe I had broken my fast, especially when I actually had a single bite of food, but even without consuming any actual food, I believe my fast was broken with the mere presence/expectation of food, and my body switched to 'feasting mode'. However, I wasn't actually providing my body with the feast, most specifically the protein it needs to survive. While the first fast was a pure fat burning experience, the second was not a natural transition from an already ketogenic body. I was a sugar burner, around a lot of sugar, and even had a few bites of sugar to cement myself in glucose mode. This time around my body had lost a tremendous amount of muscle, and now I had a smaller furnace to burn the copious amounts of junk I was throwing at it.
So, one may think 'lesson learned', just regain control and froge ahead with better information and the proper know-how. Well, I've been trying for almost two years now, and the thought of another long-term fast is more daunting than ever.
All hope is not lost. I am now… finally… moving closer to a healthy mind & body that could move into a longer fast. Not going to force it, but I feel I getting back to that place of healing where I can make healthy informed choices with the help of my body guiding me through the process.
I hope my experience may help others as well find the right path for our individual journey.
