    I have a great Dutch oven, however it's a bit small. So when my local supermarket ran a promotion for a Pyrex oven for half price I was overjoyed. The promotion ran as such, for every 20 bucks spent you got a sticker and once the sticker booklet was filled (20 stickers) you could use the completed sticker booklet plus 100 bucks to purchase the oven. It's a very heavy cast iron oven with an enamel coating inside and out. Unfortunately after the third or forth use the enamel on the inside started to chip away, even where the lid's edge comes in contact with the rim of the pot started to chip. For that reason if I ever purchase a new one I will not get one with an enamel coating on the inside and definingly not anther Pyrex.

    He said, "A good complexion and good skin, and riddance of that for which people have considered me unclean." 
    Then the angel passed his hand over him, and his uncleanness disappeared from him, and he acquired a good complexion. 
    Now the angel said, "And what would you like most to have?" 
    He said, "Camels." 
    So he was given a she-camel in her tenth month of pregnancy. He said, "God bless you for this." 
    Then the angel came to the bald man and said, "What would you like most?" 
    He said, "Nice hair, and riddance of this condition for which people dislike me." 
    Then the angel passed his hand over him, and his baldness disappeared as he acquired a full head of hair. 
    Now the angel said to him, "And what would you like to have?" 
    He said, "Cattle." 
    So he was given a pregnant cow. And he said, "God bless you for this." 
    Then the angel came to the blind man and said, "What would you like most?" 
    He said, "That God may restore my vision so I might see people." 
    So the angel passed his hand over him and God restored his eyesight. 
    Now the angel said, "And what would you like to have?" 
    He said, "Sheep." 
    So he was given a pregnant ewe. 
    The former two animals gave birth, and so did this latter one; eventually one of the men had a valley full of camels, one had a valley full of cattle, and one had a valley full of sheep. 
    Then the angel came to the leper in disguise and said, "I am a poor man, at the end of my rope on my journey, without recourse this day except to God and to you. I ask you-by the One who gave you a good complexion, good skin, and wealth-for a camel whereby I may make it to the end of my journey." 
    But the man said, "I have many obligations." 
    Then the angel said, "I seem to know you. Weren't you a leper, shunned by society as unclean, impoverished? And did not God give to you?" 
    He said, "I simply inherited this wealth, grown generation after generation." 
    The angel said, "You are a liar. May God make you as you were." 
    Then the angel came to the formerly bald man in disguise and spoke to him as he had the former leper. And the formerly bald man replied as had the former leper. So the angel said, "You are a liar. May God make you as you were." 
    Then the angel also came to the formerly blind man and said, "I am a poor man, on the road, at the end of my rope on my journey, with no resort this day but to God and to you. I ask you-by the One who restored your vision-for a sheep to tide me over on my way." 

    The man said, "I used to be blind, but God restored my eyesight. Take whatever you want, and leave what you will. 
    For by God I will give you no trouble about anything you take today for the sake of God." 
    The angel said, "Keep what you have; for you were only being tested. God is pleased with you, and displeased with the other two."

    I have the Cuisinart and the Lodge, no issues with either. I have one Le Creuset sauce pan and it’s perfectly fine. The rest of my pans are season cast iron, Lodge and Wagner. I won’t need to buy another pan as long as I live.

    Based on your conclusions, the Le Crueset did not come out the most expensive at all, despite it having the highest upfront cost. It came out as the best value for longevity and quality overall. That makes it the cheapest over its lifetime. Buying low cost items often turns out to be the most expensive overall due to replacements due to non durability, poor results.

    Basically an ad for Le Creuset. Does not name or rate four of the seven tested. We have a lodge and another brand, both used regularly and no wear and tear on either. One US made, the other probably Chinese.

    A Dutch oven must be camp fire freindly. The handles must be designed in such a way as to accept very heavy wire hangar handle to function as a pail yet not bee too lose. The first use of Dutch oven were for the camp fire overhead spit.

    Funny how they never talk about Lodge, but sold EVERYWHERE!!! And you never see it at a rummage sale. Yes, its cheep, and you have to look it over good when you buy it. But it still works and its much cheaper. I will stick to my Logde…

    I know nothing about Dutch Ovens but what I just saw on the video! but I do know almost everything about good ole tried-n-true cast iron! soap of any kind should Never ever touch it! You don't "wash" cast iron like you do other utensils. You Clean it! which is taking care of and babying it! because knowing how to use it(not properly there's only one way to use it! no other way works, any other way is wrong!) means not tasting soap(becz cast iron is porous and absorbs and holds chemicals and soaps!) If it's taken care of by wiping it down,oiling and heating it til wisps of smoke rise then there's no germs anywhere to ever worry about! Each time, dont be lazy and let food sit and dry, you'll not have problems… I guess no one can fully understand unless they had 2 grandma's to teach them while growing up and showing them first hand over a 20 year period!… washing entails soap and water- two things which should neve come in contact with together at the same time! If you wash the precious patina away you have ruined it's non stick ability! and therefore it's just another dog-dish! sometimes water is necessary to prepare a desired meal but there should be a patina separating the metal and food(you do not want to taste rust in your food!) Patina is crucial which is carefully baked on oil! Cast iron (if prepared by an experienced cook) is known as "The Original Non Stick Material" nothing can beat it , ceramic may possibly equal it but rarely surpass it! Certain people on here would do good to actually learn the basics before attempting a lavish dish and unlearn the way that someone else wrongly told them but never actually showed them! never start out with a cold pot or pan,have previous experience with your chosen dish and have a person who knows and doesn't guess! know whether or not to use oil or water and how much and finally don't try to cook something like spaghetti sauce with uncooked pasta all together in a frying pan! certain dishes have strict unalterable requirements or a catastrophy will occur!

    Had a brand new, 1st quality 5qt Le Creuset pot that had an extremely warped lid, and the plastic knob on the replacement lid cracked after little use… Never over-heated/overtightened, it just cracked and never stayed tight. Bought a $29 Crofton 6 qt enameled Dutch over from ALDI, and it is a better pot in my experience… Bought one for a friend, and it is just as nice overall.

    I’ve had a Le Creuset for 30 years and I’m sure my great-grandchildren will be cooking with it. Having said that, I also have a Martha Stewart that I bought for 1/5th the cost and it works very well.

    Le Creuset plastic handles on the lid break easy, especially after years of use. Also one of our Le Creuset Dutch ovens cracked down the side. We still use it regularly though and have had it for near 30 years

    As a Basic Cook who loves to eat n cook, my LODGE from Walmart is the best!! Awesome Quality & Price. Besides, no matter how awesome all those name brands, once it slips ur hands n fall it wont do u no good 😬

    At around 2:30 when she points out the colour re: browning. I have 2 light-coloured enamel dutch ovens (dumb luck) and she's absolutely right. That's a major consideration when you're searing anything.

    Every time they do this they talk about how hard it is for them to see frond on a black enamel surface. I have simply concluded that they are morons. No one else on Planet Earth finds this difficult.

    I've had my Le Creuset pots for at least 40 years. The enamel is somewhat pitted inside and they have withstood tons of abuse. Not the least of which is bread baking at high temps. I love these pots and prefer them to almost any others in my kitchen. The weight can be a problem as you get older, and I once broke my toe when a lid fell on it. Im glad to know that they are still the best.

    I have a dutch oven and I use it for one thing – looking pretty on my shelf. I had another one for many years and got rid of it after the kids were gone. Now, during shutdown I have become interested in baking bread – hence the new dutch oven. I'll probably never use it for anything else except bread because I really love SS for everyday cooking and my big old cast iron skillet for high temp cooking.

    I’m so glad to have this pop on my feed. Not going to lie was pretty disappointed that Le creuset won. However let’s say someone gifts me one I’ll cherish it much more knowing that it’s the best of the best.

    I think this review video wasn't thorough enough. Staub pots have little grooves to cause condensation to rain down and keep basting your food, thus the result will be more tender and succulent meat dishes. In many tests, Staub outperforms Le Creuset. Staub is what chefs use. Truly, in the time I've been using mine, I've never burned the fond.
