I just met with Dr. Cywes on Monday, 5/10/21. We spoke for 90 mins. He's thorough, knows what he's talking about, and can relate. He said he structures his consults similarly: first part learn about your past and your relationship with food: second part he asked me to listen to and allow him to lead me to a conclusion about emotional eating, and the third, and final, part was going forward. He recommended I try 2MAD, 2 and 7pm, based on my specific needs. We decided to order complete blood work, and we're talking again in 3 weeks.
It was a worthwhile "visit". 🥰🥰🥰

Another great video chat. Off subject now… Dr. can you do a video on how you converted your dog to carnivore. My frenchie is just FAT and I’m convinced it is due to carbs in him dry food. The two of us need to be one this journey together. We are each other’s support system😂 Thanks for considering

Wow, and I'm saying that after just 1 listening. Trust me, I'll be revisiting this amazing video many more times in an attempt to soak in all of the details. It must be invigorating to grasp the entire system as you do. I can't thank you enough for sharing a small amount of your knowledge with us. You're making a difference and isn't that why we're here.

Hiya Doc, was wondering if I was to get my latest blood work and SelfDecode genetics files to you, if you would be willing to take a look at them and decode my results for me. Of course, as your in FLA and I'm in OK, I thought we could maybe do a remote session. Do you do those kind of appts for non-patient appts?

Been carnivore for 3 years. Lost 100 lbs. I am beginning to get cholesterol deposits around the eyes. Is this a side effect of keto/carnivore? My overall cholesterol is higher (350) with this way of eating.

for clarity for newbies 8:32 insulin level "low" for carb eaters
insulin normal and healthy for healthy low carb eaters/real food diet. we dont want people to think
"low insulin" means we have to inject some. No! we mean healthy normal happy low insulin. Eating Carbs starts a flood of insulin release. Insulin is the fat storage hormone so double whammy of fatness so giving diabetics insulin makes them FATTER! just stop carbs and eating all day! Grass fed butter Grassfed beef changed my life

Dr. Cywes is right, my doctor sure as hell doesn't know any of this… But I did; to a lessor degree than what Dr. Cywes just laid out in this video. When I told my doc I'm stopping the statins he was not happy, this was at least 6 years ago.

Statins interrupt the making of cholesterol at a high level in the process line ,which causes big problems in mitochondria (machine of generating power) ,that's why people on statins become tired in their muscles, including the heart which is a muscle.!!

Great video doc! We appreciate all of the content you provide.

Just adding something that was not mentioned. LDL lipoprotein also transports CoenzymeQ10 (which statin drugs block) needed for energy metobalism

Love your enthusiasm for ldl talk 😂. Wondering how long it takes for the arteries to repair. Waiting on my CAC test score. 50 yrs (give or take) 😉 of SAD vs 20 mons of Keto.

Thanx for the explainer, Dr Cywes! I had a heart attack while I was on a statin. It wasn't until I went Keto/Carnivore that I lost 80 lbs and was able to ditch all my heart meds plus Glipizide for T2.

Easy: VERY few veggie carbs, lots of fatty meat and sardines regularly. Don't eat anything except coffee and green tea 2 times per week. 65 years old, lost 120 lbs and kept it off for 18 months. The mechanics are interesting but all anyone needs to know is the routine! Thanks, Doc!

Timely message! Just had my yearly blood work done and requested the advanced lipid tests as I have the familial hyperlipidemia. I’ve been on keto for 2 1/2 years….and I’m still trying to learning all the little details! I’m going to forward your video to some of my former students who are now in PA school….my labs are not perfect by any means, but I’m certainly headed in the right direction. Could you address “residual cholesterol” and what it means. I understand it is calculated by taking total cholesterol and subtracting the HDL and LDL. Supposedly an optimal value is less than 17.
