    Actually, korean rice ball is flexible recipy for side dish.

    Japanese rice ball is shaped big triangles, because it is perfect meal for a person.

    Japanese like to put Umeboshi or fish eggs inside and patch dried black seaweed(Kim, Nori) outside.

    Korean food use dried black seaweed a lot, but red pickled Umeboshi is Japanese traditional side dish.

    South korean usually made rice ball smaller for school picnic lunch basket, because it is side dish of rice roll.

    When mother made rice roll with rice, eggs, vegetables, beefs, they prepare rice more than usual.

    They make rice ball with rice, after they complete rice roll.

    Sesame seeds and salt are only ingredients for small rice ball.

    It is similar with small cheese ball or munchkin of Dunkin Doughnuts.
