Goodness, sad you have to justify your purchase to the masses. If they had been more readily available 40 years ago I would have saved for one. But now at 70 it isn't a good option for us. But they free up freezer space, gives you the option for better snack items and you can mylar items for really long term storage

If you listen to Alaska prepper he says buy what you can replenish what you take out so that when there is none you will have food. It makes sense to me to buy it at its lowest they said tonight on the news gas could be $4 by end of March. So I’m personally am buying as low as possible and storing as much as possible. I want a freeze dryer but it is not in our budget. Going to try a garden again and to can this year but it’s scary. Can’t afford the canner even but plan on buying used or getting a gf to help.

People need to just move on. Why they think they need to open their mouths and be rude, I will never understand. 🤷🤷
As you know, my daughter and I always appreciate your videos. We love watching them. ❤️

Good morning! I'm watching your video Tuesday 25th. I miss your video yesterday. My lil girl and I had to go out of tow for follow up on her major surgery she had in November. We are 2 1/2 months post surgery and she's doing better. Slow healing process. It was a long busy day and driving 4 hours total 2 there and 2 back home. We ran into Sam's club and grabbed a few things but we are on a budget. I made fried pork chops and brown rice when we got home for supper last night. We don't do fried food very often. Your food looked yummy. Thanks for sharing your wonderful family!❤❤❤

Buy what you can. I am afraid the shortages and prices are just going to get worse. Love the freeze dryer. Becky from Acre Homestead has one. I love watching what she can freeze dry😊

I had read about freeze dryers a few days before you got yours and was interested. But after seeing you using yours and all that you can do it with it is definitely something I want to save up for. I know you said in an earlier video that it takes a certain kind of plug, do you know if it runs on a 110 or 220?

Those pork chops look delicious! I love fried porkchops but neither my daughter or husband are fans so I don't cook them very often. I've never dipped the porkchops in eggs before (I have done that with chicken though) so I'll have to do that next time.

I love the idea of doing another month of eat at home. We are going to continue our eat at home challenge into February as well (we will allow ourselves to eat out for Valentine's Day though). We did a lower spend month on groceries along with our eat at home challenge. It was more out of necessity though because my husband's work was so slow for most of December and January. He's been busy since the middle of January and has jobs for the next 5 or 6 weeks. So, my plan is to stock back up on some meat and some other stuff that we might be a little low on. Doing these two challenges together has allowed us to use meat that has been in there for a year (some of it has been in there almost 2 years).

You could "eat from the pantry" but then still purchase those same items to replenish. Then the items are being used but your supply remains the same. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I love seeing what you are freeze drying. So fun!

I wanted to give you some info. Not sure how much info your friends gave you about goats and Billy. So I worked for years on a goat and stud farm. I was told to never rub top of head or horn area it suppose to make they more mean. Your male when he gets ready my owner called it rutting but we had his pen way far in back because the smell is strong and super bad so be ready. If you were given other info go with that. Just wanted to help.

I totally get your hesitation in doing a low spend month. I feel the same with the uncertainty of another disruption of the supply chain. Maybe February needs to be a bulk haul or two for pressure canning and freeze drying? Adding those delicious looking pork chops to my menu this week!! Thanks for sharing you day!!

My pantry is low an I've spent my grocery budget already this month an I'm not even sure what on .now in my house I have to be dairy free an my oldest is vegan her choice so I do have to buy some speciality food items.but Im going to focus on trying to get my pantry somehow stocked back up.ive got too figure out how to get things for cheaper .cause in my area we don't have case lot sales or any discount grocery store.my discount store would be Aldi that's one of the cheaper besides Walmart.costco an Sam's are near me but they're nah always the better buy .

I like your answer. You should not have to justify why you bought something, Although I too have been wondering how much it would cost on your electric bill, and I too don't really see the point. And that is o.k. And it is o.k. you were really excited about it and having fun doing all the things with it. I'm enjoying watching and wondering what are you going to do next. We are all different and that is good. If we were all the same it would be really boring. Just because someone else wouldn't want one doesn't mean we should be rude to someone else. I am curious though how much it costs to run one.

I have been doing kind of half and half….I use up some of the stuff I have and I buy some new things too….I just hope everyone doesn''t go into panic mode again and start clearing the shelves out again….Praying for this world everyday….We are definitely living through some crazy and scary times….
