    My mom boils it for 6 hours, she says it will help make the rice ne more sticky and velvety… have we been cooking the zong zi too long (where it's not needed?) Amd thereby wasting gas? Since urs is only boiling for 1.5 hours?

    Ours have mung beans and filling inside like pork belly, and/or chestnuts, dried scallop, etc.

    I’m used to the savory ones from Guangdong but after eating them for a week I had to go get some sweet ones. The sweet ones look easier to wrap! Might have to try making my own next year.
