Your turkey turned out great πŸ‘! I always cut a apple 🍎 in half and stuff it in the turkey because it keeps it juicy. It doesn’t give it a taste just keeps it from getting dry. Just a tip. My Mama always did this. Hope you have a wonderful week!

I’ve always been so intimidated to cook a turkey. After watching this video, I finally have the courage to cook one! And the pot pie, I can’t wait to try that! I’ve been craving it ever since I watched this video.

Good grief Charlie Brown!!! I was watching this video and jumped up to run out to our smoker. I just realized that I left the giblet packet in our turkey that my husband was smoking. 🀦🀷😜

The day after thanksgiving my mother always takes all the pieces of Turkey, no bone, shreds it and puts it in a hot pan with hot sauce & vinegar… and you’ve got yourself a pulled Turkey vinegary Sandwich etc it sounds weird but it’s good guys!!!

Kristin, you are the ONLY person who understands my issue with onions. With the exception of scallions, I will NOT eat ANYTHING with onions in it. Onion powder or flakes I'm fine with. But anything bigger than flakes I just simply will not do. I had an incident when I was a kid where I gagged on a piece of onion… hated them ever since.

looked amazing… awesome job.. the only thing i will critique about this.. is the knife you used.. "pioneer woman".. i thought when you sliced into your turkey.. the red flowers.. was red from the turkey.. i know it wasnt.. but when i first started watching this.. that is what i thought..i love the pioneer womans line of cookery ..if it wasnt pioneer womans line.. i apologize.. but it sure looked like hers..
. but.. that freaked me out at first~ just sayin

People in America wash their Turkey? In the EU and Germany we have pretty heavy food guidelines, washing up your whole Chicken, Turkey, Goose is pretty dangerous, because it spreads bacteria through the whole Kitchen. We don't have Turkey here that much those, in Germany we eat Duck or Goose for Christmas Dinners, it's served with red cabbage and Potato Dumplings

I finally figured out a turkey is just a big chicken. 😁 And I cook mine upside down so that the breast is always juicy. If you soften the butter, mix your spices in it, it will spread nicely and brown up your skin. Good work on your first one!

I do a turkey soup and turkey salad with the leftovers. I don't make the turkey but it's on me to do all the leftover recipes lol. We always wash our Turkey, then clean the sink.

I appreciate the leftovers recipes. We have to stretch a dollar to make it work around here and that helps a lot. I can't make supper that I can't flex in to a new meal the next day (if there are leftovers). Otherwise it's too pricey.

I just watched your beer can chicken video and all I can think about is you talking about trying to get the bag out of that chicken and being covered in it, I got so tickled πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
    Btw, that turkey looks amazing!

I make mine kind of the same way! What I do is mix the seasonings with room temperature butter and rub it underneath and on top of the skin. It’s messy though πŸ˜‚ It came out really juicy and delicious so well worth it! My family was happy. It was my first time cooking the whole dinner by myself.

OMG. So I tried freezing Celery stalks because I was tired of them going bad too and it was terrible! They were limp and watery so when I saw you did this my mind was blown. It looks like the trick is to dice them first. Good to know thanks girl!!

I am wintering in my RV and was given a turkey … 18/20#… It doesn't fit in my RV oven. It doesn't fit in my freezer. It doesn't fit in my fridge. So I am thawing it out in ice bath in a bucket. I plan to cut in half or 1/4s and cooking in instant pot as soon as it gets partially thawed. Enough to saw it up with a clean hacksaw. I will distribute around camp to others IF it comes out ok. Maybe after cutting I can do one or two pieces in the oven??? 🀣 It is deff a situation! Lol.

I make our Thanksgiving dinner. I remember the first time I made my turkey and how intimidating it can be. I make the best stuffing with the bag of giblets, that would be something I would recommend you trying sometime! Your turkey turned out great!

Great video! Everything looks so good and easy. I'm gonna try and do the pot pie soon. Here's another way to fix a turkey that turns out juicey every time. The night before get a pan or whatever that will fit the turkey and be able to cover with ice water and a cup if salt. Soak overnight until ready to cook. Take out of water and rinse the salt off. Cook as long as directed. I wasn't a fan of turkey because of it usually dry but this is the only way our family will eat it now.

I used to make 3 full Thanksgiving dinners every year, first of all the best turkey hands down is Honeysuckle White, then I would always use an oven bag, I only ever salted , and peppered the Turkey, and put a few sprigs of sage in the cavity along with some washed cut celery, you can put butter under the skin, then flour the bag, pop the turkey in, and add about 2 cups of water, it would already be in a big oven pan, have your rack lowered so the bag can expand, or cook it on top of the stove in the bag, it works great, either way cook it till it's done and practically falling off the bone, your turkey will not only be moist and delicious, but easy to clean up, no mess, with the oven bag….
Never ever puncture the bag till its done!! I have made 100's of Turkeys and never a complaint , I still do Thanksgiving, but just one now!
I love your videos thank you for sharing!

I have a way to use up the mashed potatoes, make gnocchi, use the turkey and gravyfor a nice topping, I make little dressing cups in my muffin tins, and fill it with turkey a little potato, and gravy, top with cheese, and bake till bubbly, mini turkey pot pies made with dressing.
