Rice cooker cooks everything in less time then a crock pot .. you can steam veggies and cook rice and even make a stew. and its easy to clean if you need to.
if you get a chance check out the 3qt instant pot. The top secures for driving down the road. my partner cooked a 3lb pot roast with taters and other vegis in about 3 hours while we drove from lansing to kimball michigan.

Hey, you could get the Aroma Rice cooker. It has a loving lid which will help from spillage while you drive. I normally start my food at the start of shift and let it cook all day
