when my kids were young if they asked what an ingredient was I told them it was the "flavor" for the dish. As they got older I would tell them what an ingredient was and how it added to the dish. They would eat most anything and would always try stuff most other kids wouldn't.

β€. Since we can't get out of town due to snow and ice, my husband decided he wants tuna casserole for his birthday dinner this week. With canned peas. Thanks for the suggestion. Pineapple upside down cake for dessert. No grocery shopping needed!
