To make some dishesmore "meaty" my grandmother would brown her meat and in the drippings would toast some oats. You really couldn't tell. The only reason I know is I asked how she made her chili so thick and meaty.

Food is so cheap in the States, holy. Bags of frozen veggies here in Ontario are at minimum $2. Cottage cheese in that size is $4-$5. Pasta is cheap thankfully, can usually get it for 99 cents. Even a can of cheap no name soup is $1 while the can of tomatoes is $2. Meat here is insane. $7 for that lb of sausage. These are still helpful though! I’m just envious.

I'm so pleased to see no-beans recipes! I enjoy beans but have proved beyond any shadow of doubt that they trigger excruciating migraine and IBS attacks. Either of these on its own is bad enough, having nothing at the same time is pure misery. I try not to get frustrated by the beans-and-rice and rice-and-beans vlogs – after all, this is my problem – but it can be disheartening.

I think it’s a great call out on how little meat you can use for a meal. With the price of meat, people either need to cut back or prepare to up their budgets significantly

try freezing your lunches in silicone muffin cups they pop out nice for ind portions and they take up less room in the freezer. I do it all the time for soups 🙂 ps thank you for the vegetarian version, i usually take out the meat for any meals you make they end up the same. T

I'm one of the people who commented before and asked if you could come up with some bean-free meal ideas. And you delivered! I can hardly wait to try both of these recipes. They look amazing. Thank you!!❤️

Aldi's is probably the most economical store around. Unfortunately my closest one is 1.5 hours from here. Great job! I'm sure you help so many people on a budget. And people can substitute items for ones that fit their diet

Thanks to my mom I grew up eating homeade cottage cheese and it is very much a staple in our diets. I could live on beans but my hubby doesn't really like them, I agree why would you cook things and then nobody would eat it. I like that you do give additional ideas and suggestions.
