I have a recipe that has been in my family for about 3 generations. We call it pineapple upside-down cake but it's very different from traditional pineapple upside-down cake. You need one can of crushed pineapple, one can of cherry pie filling, one box of yellow cake mix and one stick of butter. Preheat the oven for the temperature on the back of the cake mix box. Using a 9×13 glass baking dish you dump the dry cake mix into the dish. Spread it out evenly as you break up any lumps. Then you cut the butter into about half tablespoon chunks and Spread them evenly over the dry cake mix. Next open the crushed pineapple. DO NOT DRAIN IT. You need the extra liquid to moisten your cake. Spoon the crushed pineapple over the cake and butter mixture as evenly as you can. Last, spoon the can of cherry pie filling over the mixture as evenly as you can. Bake for the time it says on the back of the cake mix box. Let it cool for about 10-15 minutes. It's best served warm and with whipped cream if you like. It sounds weird but it's delicious. I really hope you get a chance to make this. I think your kids will love it too. My daughter and I love watching your videos together. I love how positive you are.

Instead of adding more sugar to the mix, maybe add more sweetness and to cover the unappealing ground meat look of the crumb topping by sprinkling powdered sugar on the top at the end.
