You're so cute with all your little steps when my mom just jumps everything into the slow cooker and forgets it go for 8 or 10 hours and then we have something delicious at the end

I do hope you rendered that fat that you trimmed off for some awesome other uses. I do this with all trimmings of meat products and it really becomes a very tasty cooking fat. Good economy and good food.

All of your reasons for making a beef stew are spot-on, but you forgot the most obvious one; beef stew is friggin' awesome!!! I use a crock pot and layer the veggies (potatos, carrots, celery, onions/shallots, & garlic) on the bottom with the beef on the top layer, out of the liquid. I use beef stock/broth for the liquid. Then when the meat is cooked, I add enough broth (with cornstarch) to fill the pot and thicken the broth. I then season to taste, usually salt and pepper, dried rosemary, thyme, oregano, sage and parsley. 1/2 – 1 teaspoon each, depending on taste preference.

I appreciate you, Adam. I don't leave comments. But when you mentioned using MSG to give the stew some umami. It excited me, and I wanted to show my gratitude. I've been watching your channel for a few years now, and rarely do you ever see other creators recommending to their viewers to use MSG(other than east Asian food channels). Growing up in an East Asian home I consumed and used "the stuff" ever since I was in diapers. From a simple fried egg to an overnight ribeye. It is amazing! One of my special weapons when I need some pep in a dish. I believe that just about anything is better with this sodium. Thank you for educating the masses. I hope that one day it will be a norm seasoning in kitchens. Hope to see more, and I wish you and yours a healthy and happy holiday!

(For the misinformed please watch Adam's video on MSG)

Adam, no need to let other creators stress you out. Your parsimonious approach to recipes combined with spot-on visuals makes your channel the only one I go to. It's unique. Please continue to make the real world of home cooking a better place. We are what we eat, so my family and I are better off because you've shared so much with us. Thank you. so much.
