I made this yesterday for Super Bowl Sunday and it was really good, a big hit. However, it reached my max fill line in my 6 qt instapot, so you couldn’t do this in a 3 qt! Also, I used only 3cups of chicken broth (instead of the recommended 4 cups) and it was pretty liquified. I think I’d use 2 to 2 1/2 cups only in the future to make it more chili like.

How might you alter this recipe for someone who just can't handle spicy foods? I am sure this is not truly "spicy" by most standards, but my husband's system simply does not agree with the slightest amount. I'm thinking I would need to leave out the peppers, chilies, chili powder, and cumin. Would you suggest adding any different spices to replace these or adding more barbecue sauce (that he loves and tolerates just fine). Obviously, it would no longer be chili, but I am just curious how I could adjust to accommodate him.

Thanks in advance. I love your videos and no nonsense approach to cooking. Keeping it simple.
