We had a 90 birthday party for my mom a few weeks ago.
I looked at the menu online weeks ahead of time know that my questions would put some tension into the night. I am the only healthy eater in the group. I called the restaurant about 9 times ahead of time to pinpoint ingredients and what I could eat. Worked like a charm. However, the only dairy free, oils free salt free item on the entire menu was lettuce, artichoke hearts and grape tomatoes. I brought my own dressing.

Thanks for sharing your insights on the question regarding asking questions when ordering at a restaurant. I especially enjoyed Dr. Liles's understanding of the group of people "leaking their own frustration". I'm one of those people who asks a lot of questions, so even though I don't go out to eat often when I do, I try to go LAST when ordering…some questions get answered by other people's questions…plus it gives me time to look at the menu and make special requests based on the ingredients on the menu items. I'm so grateful for these conversations. I love and appreciate knowing Dr. Doug Lisle! I've never met him, yet, he makes a huge difference in my life!

I hope on his next visit Dr. Lisle is given more of a variety of questions to answer, as he usually is. This is the first time I didn't enjoy listening, as he had to keep repeating that parents cannot shape and mold their kids. Seems pretty easy to understanding the concept, and let him answer questions about another topic.

Very sad to know most people won't care about animals even if you try to show the other side. I deep down knew, you only have to look around to realise most people don't have a clue about ethics.

Thank you thank you thank you Chef AJ and Dr Doug. Another fantastic talk, interesting, thought provoking and enlightening. I wish Dr Doug was my dad or professor or my friend, he is such an intelligent, interesting guy with such sound advice. I love hearing him laugh too! ….. So theres not much chance getting my girlfriend to not eat meat or stop drinking wine ( a lot of it } and Im never going to convince my best friend to stop eating pigs even though he considers his dog as part of his family. This is a revelation to me and although I feel sad that they arent going to be as healthy as they could be, it gives me permission to stop trying to convince them.

It's always a great, great time when DDL appears, alongside our wonderful host, Chef AJ. The two are amazing together…Chef AJ has a great deal of insight into the mind of our beloved Dr. Doug Lisle, heck, she even recorded the Audible copy of DDL's book, The Pleasure Trap. They can be quite comical together and profoundly deep when it comes to the processes of the mind/brain. Thank you for a stunning hour, plus, Chef AJ and Dr. Doug Lisle. I am looking forward to the February 2023 event with Dr. Jen Howk, as well. 🙏🙏💜💜💪💪
