My mother made something almost identical to this with the addition of lemon juice and a little sugar. She didn't call it soup. She called it "sweet and sour cabbage".

This is a soup recommended by doctors for heart patients. Itโ€™s not a lifestyle. It is good for short term use. Recommended to eat as much as you want but you canโ€™t eat anything else

I ate for breakfast cereal with milk and a banana. Some other mornings I ate one or two poached eggs on a bed of lettuce. I drank the soup for lunch and dinner. Some days I also snacked on a few pieces of pineapple and or watermelon. I also ate some mornings with the poached eggs a slice of toasted wheat bread.

I made this and did not lose even one pound and ate it for a whole week; breakfast, lunch and dinner. I think this only works if you have consistent poor eating habits. I eat pretty healthy and sparesely so this did nothing for weight loss. But I bet as an alternative to other poor choices this would work.

Why muck up your fresh veggies with canned tomatoes and powered herbs? Sriracha tastes much better than tobasco, imo, and I put shredded cabbage and sliced, fresh tomatoes after the celery, garlic, carrots have cooked to al dente in veggie broth not water.

Those pre-skinnned baby carrots have ZERO nutritional value. Just saying. All ingredients should be whole and organic. Other than that, this isn't rocket science…. simply pseudo-science for the new agers out there who are clueless about health. This is due to the medical/media industry. This should be common sense. With that said? Great recipe for the most part. Bet it tastes great.

My question is this, do you gotta eat this forever,โ“ cuz I have a friend who's close to 400lbs, and and she would need to maintain her weightloss, so I'm sure she's not gonna eat it forever, maybe she can alternateโ“

Yeah looks good but I would use the celery leaves, plus I would use different seasonings, like chicken bullion, parsley, basil, maybe a little cayenne, olive oil, I think I would like mushrooms in , maybe spinach, yeah I would make it my own special recipe.
Thanks for the reminder, need to make my cabbage soup. ๐Ÿ‘
