Agreed on the Orange Chicken from TJs – its in the freezer for those nights where cooking is just not going to happen. The TJs Kung Pao chicken is also worth keeping for emergencies.

    You need a lavalier mic.

I really like the Trader Joe’s orange chicken. I also like that it has 2 sauce packets, so you can do just half a package at a time. I’d avoid their honey walnut shrimp, though (or at least use the sauce quite sparingly).

    You guys ROCK!
NOW, on the egg rolls being too soggy, I have had these before…. I too thought they were soggy, so the next time I had them I feel fried them and they came out crispy and were very good! Give it a try and see what you think!
Keep up the good work you two!

I appreciate the sincere reviews of prepared Chinese food. Living in Singapore, and being married to a Chinese woman, I am spoiled, and biased, but I'm happy to purchase and eat prepared foods from a supermarket, IF it's a quality purchase.

I just love you guys. And I love that you were so honest because you know what you’re talking about and this is about authenticity. It does not surprise me about PF Chang’s at all. A Very Americanized place, all salt and sugar and oil. Was fun to watch that Trader Joe’s got in there somewhere. Thank you again so glad you guys are here.😘😘😘

I absolutely love this format! It’s great to get both of your reactions, and I really like that you explain when it’s clearly Americanized, but still ok vs. Americanized & not good.

Thanks for the helpful reviews! Never had any of them but I am willing to try Trader Joe’s orange chicken and fly by jing’s dumplings. It figures that PF Chang’s are not that great. I am staying away from those.

    I love this series.

Thank you for presenting this to us.

I shop at trader Joe's and I have the Mandarin orange and the dumplings in my freezer. I was going to boil them and then Brown them in a skillet as fried dumplings/potstickers. I have a container of the sauce usually given from my local Chinese place. I cherish that sauce and use it to baste pork on the grill

I had frozen PF Changs once and almost barfed. The TJs orange chicken is kinda gross, but I guess 5 bucks is a good deal. I really really like Trader Joe's chicken fried rice. It's the only frozen Chinese food I like.

I really appreciate a honest opinion of Americanized asian food from the grocery store. I try to make authentic Asian dishes at home. So I love this video. Hope you do more of them so I know what to buy and what to stay away from. Thanks 😊

I agree with Daddy Pang. The jiaozi which they boiled in water tastes really good. The skin is thin and the filling very tasty. I wish they are bigger. Will definitely buy again. Will try the frozen items next time!

Thanks for the info. Have loved the convenience of TJ’s orange chicken. We prefer Aldi’s Fusion brand dumplings because the skin is thin and they have two sizes one small one for wonton soup and one for pot stickers. Ideal intro to whatever Chinese meal you are having. We prefer a soy sauce slightly sweet vinegar sauce that is mixed with Sesame laced Chinese garlic sauce. Really awakens the taste buds for what comes next. Again thanks for the info. Agree that you are better off making your own Dan Dan noodles.

Thanks so much for rating these frozen foods, it helps greatly when you can’t make them from scratch. I love Chinese food and the convenience of frozen helps so much for time and not having all those ingredients on hand. Please do more. No problem with rice on the side to go along with the meal.

Love this video, very informative. Sad when you've never been to China and have no idea what real Chinese food is supposed to taste like, which is the boat I'm in. So I really enjoyed this father & son team reviewing these grocery store brands and giving us their opinions. It helps a lot. Next trip to TJs I'll be picking up some of that Orange Chicken.
    Thanks guys👍🏼🙋‍♀️
