My hubbys favorite hot dog is the Nathan's brand but with the price hikes on food, we've been eating the Oscar Meyer Turkey hot dogs. They're surprisingly good!! I'd try your recipe but leave out the hot dogs, cook the dogs separately and put your chili cheese recipe on the hot dogs in their buns. Your recipe sounds really good except for the Fritos. Im not a fan of them but would put them in cuz my hubby loves Fritos.

You said “to make sure your hotdogs are cooked thru”. After sitting in the chili for 2+ hrs. I am certain they would be warmed thru, I think is what you meant, cause almost all pkg’d hotdogs are fully cooked already and state it on the wrapper. There are some fresh/authentic/homemade you can find out there that aren’t, but they are sold as sausage, wurst etc. usually. Great video though, looks yummy.

Watched this again. Couple more questions. Can you make on oven top? Can you add some diced tomatoes? More for color! Also. Do hot dogs benefit from a sear in separate pan, so outside a bit crisped? Even after cut up. This looks soooo good!

I love home-made chili, too. and my favorite hot dogs are Nathan's brand as well! Also, I think we could modify this recipe to create a different version to add to the rotation.. Instead of making chili, you could use taco seasoning in the ground beef to make a cheesy hot dog taco casserole. 🙂

I just had to tell you, I put a new spin on fried cabbage last night!! We had beans with ham hock and sweet cornbread (jiffy hack). But I used bacon grease a slice of the meat of the ham hock, onions, carrots and corn, lots of butter, organic Cajun seasoning, salt and pepper, garlic powder, a little onion powder, I drizzled some tomato balsamic vinaigrette and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, and I softened a cube of chicken bouillon and mixed that around, oh! It was so so good!! You definitely inspired me by watching your cabbage dish videos!! Thanks Catherine!! And I bragged about this chilli dog recipe! Definitely making it this weekend!!

Here is a Question for your Fans.." if Jesus came to your House for a Meal what would you Cook..and Why ? For your Non Religious views they could just substitute Jesus for a Earthly person….here is my answer : it's IMPOSSIBLE to impress God so the Meal is not the center point..I would make lasagna with mushrooms sauce..with firecracker potatoes and a Cherry cheesecake ice cream pie. It's a dish I love to make. It's simple and creative..and it takes a long time to eat…
