I made this, and I want to say this recipe makes an awesome soup! Thank you so much! I did make one change though. I added pork base to give it more flavor and it was SO good. I always wondered what the heck people would use ham base for and now I know. It could be used in home-cooked green beans and split pea soup. I think you could also use it in this chowder. I may have to get some. Anyway thanks again!
