I need more background about the rabbit I’m just confused. Did you kill it to teach your kids where meat comes from? Was it injured or something? Just curious because I think I missed the part where she explains why it had to be killed.

As an Ohioan we absolutely do dress up in hoodies and long pants when it’s cold out! Lol it’s always drafty and I don’t wanna turn my heat on 75. I keep it a nice 71 in my house but it’s still so chilly! Cuddle weather for sure 😂

"Each to their own" only works when there is no victim involved. Interesting how the focus is on the experience of the killer, rather than any concern for the experience of fear and pain for one whose who life was needlessly taken from them. I am glad this highlights what's known as "the meat paradox", where most people are uncomfortable with the idea of animals suffering and being killed for food, yet still don't connect with the dead animals on their plates. There's no longer any need to kill or use animals in this day and age #veganforlife

I love hearing about bekahs experience and as someone who eats meat I agree that you should know where your meat comes from and how it’s made and be ok with that. If it makes you uncomfortable you shouldn’t be engaging in that practice.

Just here to say that being vegan is about doing what you can to reduce animal suffering. There will never be a way to have 0% suffering guaranteed in ANYTHING we consume. No point sweating the small stuff (like the beaver thing). You'll miss the forest for the trees. Perfection is the enemy of the good.

My family raise our own cattle to eat as well as growing our vegetables. It's really nice to know where it comes from and that we tended to it. The difference between store meat and meat from a cow you raised is sooooo different.

I need Becca to stop with this. I get it but also just saying how proud you are of killing an animal and how good you feel about yourself, and there are plenty of ways you can connect to your ancestors without killing innocent animals. You could also evolve that legacy, and that heritage takes it forward. We are aware of the suffering. We have other options now. We don’t have to perpetuate a cycle of cruelty and abuse to murder an animal. It’s just people are brainwashed to think just because it’s not part of the torture happening to animals in the corrupted agricultural industry doesn’t mean it’s not cruel. Yes, I am vegan.

Not sure if comparing birth rates across different countries/geographies would be accurate. There’s a lot of factors you’d have to take in (poverty rates, education levels, healthcare provided, etc). It would probably be more accurate to just look at the months with the most births in the US by the census or cdc. Which is summer and early fall.. meaning cold weather brings people together lol.
