Why does everyone think of corned beef when they think of hash. My mother always made roast beef hash, and I do the same thing; in fact, I've never prepared corned beef in my kitchen. And rather than chop everything up before cooking, I get out the good ol' cast iron grinder (thanks to my mother-in-law) and run the meat, potatoes, and onions through it; then I cook it up in that all-important ingredient – bacon fat.
