It was cooked before? And then sliced really tin? Or it was raw? Can’t tell from the video. I just did yesterday some. Boiled and then fried in beef tallow. Yammmm
We had some beef tongue that we weren't going to get to before our next butcher, so I gave it to my Mexican friends at their restaurant. They made sure I got some and it was quite good, but definitely needed some seasoning and a sear. Boiling just wasn't enough. Good cut tho.
Back in the day all the grocers carried tongue! Now they look at you at you like you got 3 heads if you ask for it! I love tongue. In the bush after a successful hunt, the tongue is always the first thing cooked at my campfire. Love it. Moose, bison, caribou. People have no idea what they're missing.
Hi there! In the Philippines, beef tongue is called "lengua." One of the most popular way to cook it is with mushroom sauce. Another one is "lengua estofado." It is cooked in tomato sauce. Very delicious! Even children loves it and when children likes it, usually it means it's very delicious.
You know I've never tried beef tongue. I've seen in the market many years ago. But not recently since I've been carnivore.
I remember many years ago, I was with a friend of mine and we were at a bar out drinking way out in the middle of nowhere. Some hunters came in with fully cooked platters of deer meat. They had just cooked it. Toothpicks in each serving. When it was offered to me I ate some. It was the best meat I'd ever had in my life. They kept saying, "have some more, have some more" and I did. Then they said its the heart. It was very good.
I take a dessicated beef heart supplement now. I capped it myself from the powder. I figure it gives me an extra boost of nutrition. What is odd is they don't sell beef heart at the market fresh. They put it in dog food which is curious. They do sell beef liver and its very cheap but I cannot stand liver. I cannot even put it in my mouth without gagging. I've tried. Its disgusting.
I do like cured beef or pork tongue. Yummy stuff! However, I certainly hope that they kept the meat coming as you'll be needing a bit more than that to feel satiated! My brother is over in Krakow, Poland at the moment. He took his wife to a place called Hana Sushi. It is my favourite Japanese restaurant ever but I've not been able to get back over to Krakow for a few years and I'm super jealous! Keep up the great work fella!
Getting some next time at the butcher. Nice to see you all dressed up to cook your meal!!! Reminds me of the old times. Love it.😋

Is it half of the baby portion or what ?
looks delicious…. how much red meat do you typically eat in a day? 👍👍👍👍

I don't know where that tongue has been.
Happy family time !! Thanks for sharing with us.
Tongue is delicious but I never thought of cooking it that way. I usually cook it low and slow in the crock pot.
I love my beef but not enough to french kiss a cow 😂. Idk. Maybe one day I'll try a piece
Tongue is delicious but knowing exactly where a meat comes from kind of turns me off. Same with cheek, which is probably the best meat I've eaten 🤓

My favorite!!!! Sometimes its better than a good steak!
We grew up eating beef tongue. My dad, a chef, would bring home a whole tongue, remove the outer membrane then cook it in a red wine sauce. So good.
