No thank you. I know organ meats are ever so good (nourishing traditions). But I just… can't. If I had no other choice I'd eat it. My youngest had liver as a baby regularly, I do believe that's why he was an early talker. 😜 Edited to say– I remember my parents in Ukraine, making kielbasa from our pigs, and using the intestines as the casings. In Ukraine we regularly made kholodets, which my kids call "meat jello" . I think here in the states it's called aspic. Basically the most gelatinous bone broth you can imagine with garlic and hunks of meat and carrots. Look up Ukrainian kholodets 😁
I'm from south Texas n beef tongue tacos are delicious. I'm impressed you cooked this on your channel. You can season meat w cumin n garlic for extra flavor.
I grew up in a farm family in Illinois, and tongue was one of my favorites as a kid! We boiled it with pickling spices, sliced it very thin, and ate it cold on sandwiches with white bread and mustard.
Laura, I make tongue tacos every year with my beef order. I make mine in the instant pot and shred the beef then add seasonings. My kids don’t like to look at the meat until it’s shredded. They like it, they always know what it is 😂
When I was 14 I read in a book some story about ppl eating tongue sandwiches… had a recipe with it. Shortly there after our family had a beef butchered and I asked for it. Everyone else thought it was dog food. I boiled it in salted water with bullion and pickling spices. I had the whole thing to myself. Hahaha. I was slicing it super thin and putting on a sandwich. I ate about half of it before my dad worked up the nerve to try it.
Love to eat tongue tacos. I just put in a crockpot all day or night. Put salt peppercorns and 1or 2 bay leaves until it is tender. You can dice it or shred it. Top with diced onions and cut cilantro with some green salsa. Goes better with corn tortillas rather than flour. Really good👌
Just me personally – and perhaps a privileged thing 😅 – I think I would feed this to my dog or poultry animals instead of my family. Though my husband would probably eat it 😅
My folks always bought a cow and we ate all the organ meats. I enjoyed the heart. Mom would carve a little out of the middle, open it up more, and stuff it with sage dressing and then bake.
Aaaahhhh you just went up in cool points with me. Tacos de lengua son un manjar!!!! Chopped cilantro, salsa, and onion are more authentic toppings. I’m Mexican and all I can say is You go girl!!!
If I can make a suggestion, next time, slice it very thin and serve it cold with salsa verde or pesto on top. As a side a potato salad will make a great meal
Cooked tongue once for special treat for my hubby at Christmas turned out great pressed and cold after cooking. Your looks like mine did. Oxtail soup is one of the yummiest soups you can get.
My rancher grandad ate scrambled cow brains with his scrambled eggs. Grandmother knew the smell of them cooking, made me want to puke, so she cooked it, quickly. My grandparents were depression children, so they NEVER wasted anything although they could afford the best because they raised cattle. My chef grandson, loves cow tongue, and has served it at a well known NY restaurant.
Lol… You think no-one eats this in the US? Where do you think the commercial hamburger and sausage meat comes from?
My brother loves this in tacos. Here in California, it’s normal. I don’t eat it.🙈🙃
It makes good stew also.

Next time adva bay leaf when cooking the tongue, best flavor ever.
Love tongue.
I think you would also enjoy 'brawn'.
Tender seasoned tongue set in it's own gelatinous broth.
Tasty in sandwiches or in salads.
I just don't like tongue. I don't like organ meat either. No thank you. I tend to grind up those cuts and make them into dog food
Everything’s better in a Taco!🌮🌮

We love beef tongue at our house 😋
We are Americans and have cooked tongue. It can be ground up, sliced (sandwiches are so yummy and tender) like beef. Fantastic in tacos.
This is all part of good home management, although most people aren't privy to cow tongue. Utilize everything but the oink! Or in this case, Moo!
Live ya but can’t watch this one
Watching the tongue part has really helped me extend my intermittent fasting for the day. 😝
I was surprised I actually thought tongue was tasty. Heart too.

I keep just procrastinating eating the two tongues we have in our freezer. 😬
I know people like liver, but I feed it to our dog. 😬

It has the taste and texture of roast beef IMO.
Maybe if I didn’t know what it was lol. But if I KNEW it was a tongue taco lol, I’d have to leave the table hungry.
Tongue is used by many many ethnic groups and is delicious. I am Mexican American and my mother would make tongue tacos, yum!!
Back in my home in PR I had Mexican neighbors. I accidentally ate tacos de lengua once. It taste good but I wouldn’t eat it again 🤣

That’s just revolting 🤮
I just do not think I could eat that lol
