All day cook with me !!! These recipes from the 1980s were so good !!!! I can not believe how delicious the jam cake was !!! TACO BELL PIE 1 pound ground beef …
Not sure that you are aware of this Noel but the enzyme in pineapple is the problem with your Cranberry Salad not setting up…it breaks down gelatin…
You need to let the jelly salad sit and set without the added pineapple until it's half set then stir in the pineapple. As someone else has mentioned the pineapple is too acid. This can be a problem with tinned mandarin oranges too in jellied salads/desserts.
My mouth watering. The best thing about this video was your total cool when things don't go accordingly. So calm and unfazed. Can't bottle that. Brilliant. Thank you. Carol
Good evening all th3 recipes sound awesome.. i will def b trying them.. thx so much for sharing and what u thought of them.. I think I have had some type of cranberry salad before, not sure if it was this one.. but def wanna try it.. amd blackberry jam cake sounds so good!🥰 have a good night.😍😴😴
Sister I'm glad you got the ham for Thanksgiving dinner! I would agree on adding more jello and that did look yummy and I'm not even a fan of cranberry LOL. I don't like Blackberry so I probably use a different Jam but I think I would make a sheet cake considering the issues you had with it being crumbly. I'm sure it tasted like Kevin so I wouldn't worry about an ugly cake as long as it tastes good that's all that matters! I was surprised that the taco pie didn't have salsa in it cuz I thought it would make it to dry but it looked yummy. My boys would absolutely love it that might be a Superbowl dish this year. Coconut cream is one of my favorites and I thought that was a lot of coconut myself but it wasn't my recipe LMAO. My question says this is how was it with the cream cheese in it because I know my mom and never put them cream cheese and hers that's why I'm asking? I so loved the fireplace outside made me just wish I was sitting here with a cup of hot cocoa chewing the fat with y'all. Thanksgiving at my nephew's and my son did my pumpkin cookies for me cuz I can't use my right arm at all. My husband take my cheese ball for me same reason. And they both helped me with the scalloped potatoes. It's something that my nieces and nephews wanted even though they told me not to bother with anything just to show up. They're bound and determined that Christmas is at my house as usual and once again my nephew said will do potluck Aunt you don't have to do anything silly boy LOL we both know that ain't happening. they all understand that I'm still not even close to being back to my normal they said they don't care and they will help do everything that I need to get done so how can I say no right? blessings and much love
Hello Beautiful. I get so excited when you upload a new video. Im loving them. I made the cranberry chicken. I chopped up pecans and black walnuts. Mixed them together, put them on top of my chicken before i baked it. OMG it was so delicious. 🙌 Thanks for sharing all your recipes. Much Love From. Indiana. Xoxo 💕😘🌟🎁⛄🎅🎄💥
I’m sorry you had some fails
When I make jam cakes I put a circle of parchment paper in the boron of the pans and cook them on parchment paper. But no matter what it looked like I bet it was good. . I love the real life cooking you do because when you cook it doesn’t always turn out perfect lol
Happy Thanksgiving, God bless you all🙏❤️
All of it looks fantastic. My favorite would be the coconut cream pie. 💕☺🙏
Delicious I’m loving the vintage recipes it brings back memories of cooking with my granny and great aunts. Stay safe and god bless xxx
I save all of your recipe videos. This one didn't have them listed in the title. The jam cake looks delicious.
Loving these vintage recipes Noel. They remind me of when I was a little girl in the 60s and 70s. My mum was a prolific baker and her whiskey and sultana cake was legendary. I hope I've given my kids the same kind of memories. There's no better way to celebrate the season than through food and food that brings back memories is more than just a meal, it's a tribute to those who have left us.
My aunt used to make a similar cranberry jello salad! She used a box of red jello, a can of whole berry cranberry sauce, minced celery, a drained can of mandarin oranges (save the juice for the liquid in the jello), minced apple, orange zest and pecans. You just prepare the jello per package directions, mix everything else in and let it set
I copied all your recipes to a word document for later use. Thanks, loved the video as usual. Here comes December every one, hold on to the seat of your breaches, it will fly by. Have a great month everyone.
I make that frosting for an Apple cake that I make it is so good but very! sweet. I make a jello salad that uses pineapple and I have to make sure I use the one cup of hot water to mix the jello but then try to make sure I get the add ins as dry as possible. I also switched from crushed pineapple to tidbits and that really helped. It all looks yummy and I’m really enjoying these recipe videos
For crescent pie crust you can separate the pieces of dough into the triangles and put them in the pie plate point in towards middle of plate and wide end up plate. Then just press the seams together. Easy peasy. Melaney from SoCal
All of the food looks delicious! I laughed out loud when you said that was the ugliest cake you ever made lol.
I put my jam cake in the freezer …use sprayed parchment paper. Have to laugh at myself…have all my newspaper recipes…granny too.
Love Theo. I heard him say Theo fall down. Such a sweet little man. Food looks yummy
Noel we have a similar cranberry salad recipe you just add a half packet of plain gelatin to your flavored jello. That should set up salad for you. It all looks delicious.
I have been making a similar cranberry jello for 30 years, mine uses a large cherry jello and one tablespoon of lemon jello plus 1 pkg of Knox gelatin. I think you need the extra gelatin to set it.
Mine has ground cranberries and oranges, sugar, crushed pineapple and shredded apples (in food processor). Our church has made 1,000 servings of this to server at a Turkey dinner for over 50 years. We only had problems with it setting one time, it was when the food service company sent a substitute brand gelatin that weighed 1/2 what the recipe called for. We had to buy and mix additional cherry gelatin that was concentrated and add it to the unset salad, then it set beautifully. Adventures in jello are always fun! I love your videos! And the jam cake sounds delicious!
Love the everyday vlogs I watch as soon as I get up in the morning here in England 🏴 stay safe & well everyone
You can't put pineapple or kiwi in Jello. It doesn't set. I'd really like to try the Jam Cake though. Love your channel!
Pecans would be good in the cranberries. I love nuts.
Hi Noel, I love your videos, specially the ones with old recipes. Noel, can you please make a few recipes using not too much sugar? Thank you
My grandmother made it in a 9×13 pan. She must have had the same experience. Lol. It was always so good.
Your cranberry salad didn't set because you didn't drain the pineapple thoroughly and you pulverized the cranberries instead of crushing them.
Next time if you opt to use the food processor, place both cranberries and pineapple into cheesecloth over a colander before adding to jello mixture.
Your cake was crumbly because you over mixed it. Next time add flour and milk by hand. Doing it in the mixer made it too fluffy, thus crumbly when it came out.
Cool cake in pan before removing and also line the bottom of the pans with greased parchment or wax paper you've greased and floured.
I want the Taco Bell pie like now lol I made taco salad today lol
The cranberry salad reminds me of my favorite Thanksgiving side my mom always makes! She uses one 6 oz. box of Black Cherry Jell-O, whole cranberry sauce, crushed pineapple and a bag of frozen raspberries. It's delicious! Is yours super sweet? We don't add any extra sugar to the Jell-O in our recipe.
Jello won't set up when using pineapple. Here's the chemical reason…The pineapple prevents Jell-O from setting is due to its chemistry. Pineapple contains a chemical called bromelain, which contains two enzymes capable of digesting proteins, called proteases.
I am loving this recipe that you are making many blessings hope you a great thanksgiving with your Mom Saturday 🙏🏽❤️✝️🌹☮️🔯🇺🇸
I was thinking, cut parchment paper to fit pans and spray paper, it might come out easier
The jelly didn't set because of the acid in the pineapple. The chemistry is all wrong.
