A tip to get it all off, lay your roll on top of the meat and cheese open, and slide your spatula under with one hand while holding the bread down with the other. Best way I can explain it right now

Andrew, be honest, did you eat two chopped cheeses in one day?

Also, I was always under the impression that yellow mustard is required as well. Have I been lied to???

I JUST learned about chopped cheese sandwiches a few weeks ago and now I'm furious that I didn't know about these when I lived on the east coast. Thank dog for Babish.

Last week all I had left in the house was ground beef and didn’t feel like making burgers so I thought, “let me make burger meat in the style of a cheesesteak” and when I ate it I thought I was a genius who just invented the best sandwich. Fast forward a week later and now I come to realize this has already been a thing.

Chopped cheese is literally because a bodega ran out of shaved beef, so Ahk cut up some burger patties. Its not some legendary sandwich or beloved cultural touchstone, its a convenience meal. Foodies and hipsters put too much effort into things sometimes.
