Okay, I'm going to officially let everyone here know I am old by saying I know who Carol Doda is. Or was, back on Channel 36 before they tamed their content down somewhat. That was, what? 1977, 1978?
Where's the cayenne?
Chef John – I look forward to trying this recipe, and hope it holds up to the salt and pepper ribs you taught me to do in the oven!
Greetings from Redondo Beach CA.🌷🌷I will definitely make this to celebrate 4th of July. Thanks 🌼🌷
No cayenne?
in the oven?? smoker is waaay better
I don't know why but I really dislike cooking with soda or beer. I don't ever drink soda so I refuse to cook with it.
What, ribs with no smoke? What kind of west coast trickery is this? You need to give it the ole smokey smokey brother!
Chef, what happens to the caffeine when you cook it out?
Asking for a friend that stops drinking caffeine at noon…
Why didn't you just use two pieces of alfoil? One for the top, one for the bottom..
I remember an episode of Throwdown with Bobby Flay. A steak challenge, where the challenger used cola as part of his steak marinade.
was really expecting at least one "cherry cola, c-o-l-a, cola"
I been making root beer and dr peper BBQ for years. This flavor combo is a new twist
I love how Chef John says he's never transfered the juices without spilling it and then proceeds with a casual and flawless execution without spilling a single drop.
Cattlemen's Memphis Sweet.
Is there a way to do this on a grill?
I can't wait to try this! I use your oven baked rib recipe all the time with baby backs and spare ribs and they come out perfect every time.
Smoke these with some cherry wood and this would be money.
Ill pass, you smoke ribs on a smoker..not cook in a oven
Cherry cola is the Mr. Pibb of pork ribs!
I might try this but I'll go for the cola sold at the organic store, tastes a lot better. Cherry coke is just evil.
And no, do not use diet cherry coke! Frankly, if you have to be told this, you probably should let someone else do the cooking.
Wait wait wait… you said soda AND pop!
Using cola on spare ribs or wings is a Chinese home cooking trick too.
Looks delicious but this takes way too much time for a rather small amount of food.
I used parchment instead of foil, in a 300°f grill. They came awesome. Thank you for something different , which a camper like me can follow.
I still have my Mom's Carolina Red Slaw recipe (no onions in her recipe). It's made to go on pulled pork sandwiches! Yummmm.
Gotta do this with Dr. Pepper!
Hullo my food wish is to know the name of that beautiful fork .
As always ks
3 hours in foil? Wow
Whether you like it or not, CJ's voice can be a little hypnotizing
YUMMMMM !!
Cherry cola ribs sounds great, I also do not drink soda unless I'm dying of thirst.
Wow amazing yummy recipe
OMG I looked at the thumbnail and thought that was some kind of Giant Amazonian slug! 🤣😆🤣
Better yet cut the slab into three or four sections and do each in its own pouch, then you will have more of those delicious end pieces.
Dr. Pepper makes awesome ribs too
I love Chef John and I get that not everyone has a smoker, but with this much work GO BUY A SMOKER!!!!!
Just get a smoker
Another Excellent Job, btw I did something similar a few weeks ago using Ginger Ale and white sugar.
I'm going to make these, but I think they would be even better on the smoker!
Great, kill the damn beast to make it into sickly candy kiddie land. What a complete waste.
