in this video, I share delicious cheap foods I ate this week and other ways I saved money from my Winter stay in my RV. Thanks for …
Go to Southern States n get a ton of Oats. Get the oats without the blue additive as thats for horses n good for them but will kill humans. Grind the oats then regrind at a finer cut. There u have same as Quaker oats for pennies on the dollar. Also save your condiments. Get a free cup of hot water add ketchup packs then crackers stir n u have a free cup of tomata soup.
Just got your book today. I absolutely LOVE it!!!
Everything looks really good !
How did you make the broth for your soup or stew out of the farm stand 5 dollar produce?
Do you ever make your own salad dressing?
Yes I agree your pantry is just like a bank account. Right now in my upright freezer in the basement I have three chicken carcasses and I am going to be needing chicken broth in the next week so I will make my Crock-Pot chicken broth and be good again for a couple more months or so
You're so right Bonita about making your food stretch, as I've shared in the past I take advantage of day-old bagels at a high-end bagel shop that are less than half of the price that they normally would be. And I make them last I just eat a half in the morning. And this morning my husband and I split a bagel cinnamon raisin and each had a cup of coffee made it home and it was a super cheap breakfast but still really good.❤
Your soup looks yummy and very satisfying
I'm glad that there is a produce truck that comes by your way weekly. Nice size produce
My husband and I do the same thing if we get food out we always eat half and save the rest for the next day for lunch. Sometimes we will splurge and get Chinese food and that always lasts us for multiple days afterwards.
My husband and I spent $94 for food during January. It is doable.
My pantry allows me to do a low spend month i share on my fb with friends. Im doing 75$ a week for feb. 2 adults, occasionaly a teenage grandson on weekends. I came 64cents under budget this week lol. I got milk, large bag sh. mozzarella, organic bananas, celery, carrots, yogurt, potatoes, organic chicken, a heavy cream for a recipe. I got a 4 cup ctnr of pepper at a bargain store, and i spent the rest of my $ of 39$ on 8 large locally grown pork chops at a farm store near me. Im good till next week for milk. 😊
Excellent video! Love seeing your videos with all the great tips! I’ve learned so much from you! ❤
I also love finding food "treasures" in my freezer! I just found a small bag of frozen cauliflower that needs to be eaten soon. I inspired by your cauliflower recipe to make this tonight! How cold is it where you are? Do you have enough heat? Take care.
Useful & stimulating presentation. I get great hints and information from you.
Money in our pockets for when Murphy comes knocking on our door because no body cares no ody is going to come help us
I cash ten cents cans and received $40
It's called common sense sister❤❤
I agree. This week, I had a tin of salmon, an egg and left over rice that needed to be used up. I mixed it all together with some mayo, seasoning, dehydrated onion and a bit of pickled dill juice to make 4 mini salmon loaves. I can get 4 dinners with salad or six lunches with carrot sticks out of that. Cheap, delicious and no waste.
Hi Bonita! I really love your videos. I am 62 and I was also raised by parents that went through the Great Depression. I am so glad they taught me all the frugal ways. I retired on March 31, 2023 at the age of 61 and one of the reasons that was possible was because I have been a saver my entire working career. Our stories are very similar because I retired from working in an Adult Day Center in a nursing home. Congratulations on your weight loss. It's very evident in your face. I wanted to ask you about your sauteed cauliflower. Did you sauté the leaves too? I have been throwing the leaves away. Thanks for all of the great advice!
It is really good that u have chosen to shop smart…Great Video!! And that u have chosen to bring yr own food to be smart about it….😊
Hello! Thanks for the great ideas! The soup looks so good. 🥰
Curious how big your camper is? Have you or would you consider sharing your living quarters? One thing I think about sometimes is the fact that I'm claustrophobic and I don't know if I could live in a small space😄
The meals all look good and very frugal.😊
Frugal living can be a way of life. I have limits on how much I pay for items. I calculate how much things cost. Example I know someone that loves chocolate pudding and makes it at least once weekly. They use Meyenberg dry milk at $14/package makes 1 quart. Using cocoa, maple syrup and remaining items approximately $16 for pudding. I explained a bag of goat feed is $14/month. For a month getting 1 gallon per day that means 30 gallons for $14. Instead of purchasing dry milk weekly at $14 total is $56/month for 1 gallon. That is a major difference.
My daughter and I also did a dinner swap I had leftover chicken spaghetti and she had baked ziti and we swapped meals
Good morning Bonita, I made a pot of pinto beans with a little bit of ham and a few weiners and a tomato about to go bad chopped up really small and it was so good, using up what I had
I think talking about portions is just as important as talking about making our food stretch. In general Americans over eat, and it would be good for us all to rethink how much food we put on our plate. Thank you. Have a great video.
Where is you RV in Texas
Good job! Everything sounded and looked really good.
