I have cooked the same cut when it was a whole piece, never sliced. I saw it at Costco too, didn’t buy it because we still had a lot of steaks in the freezer.

Well, you know my ♥love♥of picanha, and that I just got a cast iron pan. So, now you know I have to go look for some picanha steaks in my new cast iron! Picanha here is still about $8.00 per pound. I just took mine out of the freezer to unthaw for Saturday! So good, that rare steak. YUM! Thanks for this.
You can ask the Costco butcher to cut it anyway you like.

Hello Anita…I have a question for you….I'm carnivore and I'm doing great but I sleep really bad. I wake up every day at 3 and stay awake one hour or more. When my smoke alarm goes off, I yell out, "It's just me cooking!" 😁 Thankfully it doesn't happen quite as often now that we installed a working hood/fan. Thanks for introducing the Picanha cut!
Lol, I am glad I am not the only one who sets off the smoke alarm when I cook.
I love picanha but I usually grill it or if it is a roast I cook in the oven.
