I’m so used to preparing lentils as Indian dal and dosas, so it’s nice to use them in a different cuisine with very different flavor profiles. One isn’t better than the other, and there is plenty of great nutrition in a bowl of lentils and beans, no matter how you spice it. Thanks for such a great recipe and for sharing grandma with us. She’s a gem!

Yes, really? Bay leaves are dry in those "spice rack" and they become drier and drier so they change their color.
Where do you get fresh bay leaves from? I've never seen them anywhere!
