I love that you chose to cook over an open fire and that recipe looks like something I will be trying very soon. If I may ask though, what would be the downside of skipping the browning part and just letting the meat cook with the vegetables? Whats the advantage to a regular pot?
Wish they had a safe and healthy stainless steel version then I would get one. Cooking in Aluminum is unhealthy.

I saw this recipe the other day after I bought my can cooker. I tried it tonight on the stove top. I used one whole beer, one can of beef broth and let it cook for an hour after it started steaming. Fantastic! I'll definitely make this one again. This fed eight people tonight. It's probably just right for about six adults. I'd double it for more people than that. Thanks for the great recipe!
