i always make what i call hurry pelau very similar to what you did cooking the meat peas vegetables etc in the coconut milk , i cook the rice separate but not fully so when i add it to the meat etc. it will finish cooking thereby making all the aromatics etc soak into the rice….and you'll never know it wasn't a one pot pelau try it… save a lot of time

That totally works…with pelau..ochro rice..bhaji rice..black eye peas and rice with saltfish. You can guess I am an expert using left over rice. You can also make pelau or soup with left over stewed chicken. Repurpose all leftovers folks. Thank you Baidawi…boss

Let me tell you why this is a game changer, because with this recipe, one could use a grated cauliflower or grated broccoli, to make a low-carb, rice free pelau if they wanted to. I admire you Baidawi for always raising the bar against the conventional.
