Looks good – but what on earth is a pint of tomatoes? Here tomatoes are sold in gram amounts – I'm used to having to convert from imperial to metric but a pint is volume and I'm lost finding a calculator that can convert pint amounts to a weight.

Awwww jeez … this looks soooooo good and I wanna try it BUT holy hell. The fat content alone has my heart already clogging just watching you melt the butter. Not to mention the high carb count that would put a diabetic in a coma..
That being said… I'll probably fall off the side of the fence on making this plus fasting before and after.

I'm trying to come up with something cheap to pitch in at a food kitchen this week.

I have home grown cherry tomato, but not tons. If I doubled this and added a a big can of marinara sauce to make stretch my tomatos, think that'd work?

I was curious about this recipe and tried it tonight. I tasted a couple of the tomatoes while it was cooking and was not overly happy with the taste. Finished it up using angel hair and oh my goodness, the dish is amazing. I should have known that everything needed to cook together. I will continue to make this as long as Jersey tomatoes are available. Next time I might add a few capers.

This is one of my absolute favourites. Marcella Hazan. Genius. I like adding pork bones to mine, very traditional amongst the Italian community near where I grew up. Imparts an incredible flavour.

I made this and it turned out so delicious that I made it again the next day. The 2nd time I made it, I used 1/2 the butter and 1/2 olive oil, added 2 cloves of garlic, used 1 can of diced tomatoes, added a teaspoon of dried basil (I didn’t have fresh) and some spinach. So simple and delicious! Thanks!

Growing up my family didn't have a lot of money as my dad was a federal prison guard and my mom stayed home. We often ate fresh pasta with butter and home canned tomatoes. A big garden kept us in food. All together we would have hundreds and hundreds of jars put up.
A big plate of fresh buttered pasta with a couple of jars of tomatoes usually with a jar of green beans on the side, fed us kids many nights.
To this day it is the ultimate comfort food. Thank you for reminding me. ❤️

This is such a versatile base recipe! Add some shrimp with garlic or some shredded chicken, spinach and a dash of heavy cream! Even some sweet/spicy sausage browned up and added in with the tomatoes and onions…

I've got a glut going in the garden of Sungolds & Esterina cherry toms. I now know what I'm making for dinner this weekend. Great presentation! Just discovered your channel and I'm hooked after 1 video. 👍🏻
