   I apologize if this is way off tangent, but since the question is about survival food, I figure I could sneak it in lol….

   I live in eastern North Carolina. I keep my BOB in my car 24/7. The only time I take it out is to check batteries and general condition of the items two times a year. It gets hot in this region. In your honest opinion, what are the the most durable food items to pack in BOBs for people who live in hot regions? Thanks!
