Just for everyone's information, at most settings, pressure cookers like this, cook at the same temperature, the settings are just timings. The difference between a 'Pasta' setting and 'Rice' setting is often just minutes. If you have a different brand, they all work pretty much the same. The pressure is slightly higher in some, but it doesn't make much odds. The best way to get to know your cooker is trial and error. It's not like rice and pasta is that expensive. Just experiment with a small quantity and see what works. After a few near misses, I've nailed oatmeal, wholewheat pasta and brown rice. The pasta setting wasn't long enough for the wholewheat fusilli I was cooking and the manual was obviously written by a technical author who'd never used the product. Adding salt increases the boiling point of the water and affects how long food takes to cook. If you want to use it for flavour, it might be better to leave it out of the cooking process and add it later.

Rice was tasty, but..! I will have to adjust recipe to 1/4 cup less water and 1/4 tsp less salt. I then checked the recipe book that came with my IPLux50 and to my surprise, that’s exactly how they put it
