I use Almond,Rice or Coconut milk gives a unique flavor and makes it extra creamy. The vanilla and Milk means no adding sugar with nutmeg and cinnamon. Add the raisins at the end. Looks great

Best warm (I’d always preferred it cold before).
You said that it thickens as it cools, and it does, to an extreme! I found that to reheat, add some milk/half and half to thin it to how thin or thick you like.
This was my IP experiment #4, and it turned out great!!!
