My aunt modified that recipe by adding in small chunks of potatoes, use coke as the liquid and a touch of chili. A sweet, salty, spicy combo all in 1 meals.
My cousin cooks the potatoes separately in broth then adds it near the end of the cooking.. so they flavors meld some but with the broth in it, its a bit dif flavor..
My grandma was raised by German mother and Scotland pa. Imagine that mix of food… my aunt learned from them too…

Hi & greetings from Worcestershire England! I have just sat down after preparing and eating this dish and I had to say it was delicious! Instead of using a cup of water I put a vegetable stock cube in otherwise I did mine pretty much the same as yours. My cabbage was a bit big too so I only used half.
Great meal idea thanks and scrummy comfort food!

Looks delicious and simple to throw together……. unique use of corned beef too……I’m going to try this and probably use chicken broth instead of water for added flavor!

That Canned corn beef is disgusting…it’s like dog food! I remember my mother fixing it with cabbage when I was a young in the 50’s and 60’s. Back then I remember it being better quality more like a chunk of Corned beef not like mushy dog food 🤮

Just made this. Used chicken broth instead of water. Quite delish. I think I will leave out the Italian seasoning next time. Didn't really compliment the other flavors 👍👍👍👍👍

OMG so good!!!! I just made this. I didn't have caraway seeds so I left them out. Also I had to make my own worcestshire sauce. I didn't have any and Ihad to use regular mustard. It was absolutlely amazing. Thank you for this budget friendly recipe. I have subscribed to your channel. I want to see what else you have in store.

In this modern age of crock pots, unless you're out camping in the wilderness, why settle for CANNED corned beef? How much effort is it to open up a package of corned beef from the meat counter, rinse it off well, and dump it in the crock pot with the seasoning packet that usually comes with it (or even better yet, toss in an additional couple of tablespoons of pickling spice) and some water and let it cook with no tending from you to absolute glorious perfection for a few hours? Canned corned beef is full of fat and cannot hold a candle to a beautiful hunk of corned beef from the crock pot from which you can trim most of the fat. Sorry, Chef, but I just can't get behind this recipe at all.

Great video with great tips all the way through. Just had a huge batch of Kentucky fried cabbage last night with way too much left over so I'm going to add some seared canned corned beef tomorrow night and see how it goes.

Looks delicious! Used to do a corned beef hash (spuds etc) but got too expensive in the UK (£3/Tin) but noticed it down to about £1.50 – £2.00 so will start using it again. Thanks.
