I grew up in southeast Oklahoma, but it's amazing how many of the recipes I've watched on this channel are familiar to us too. Although we have added such things as cornbread and fried okra, our home cooking is largely taken from Britain it seems.

I cheered and clapped finally someone else gets it when searing steak chunks. NEVER OVER LOAD THE PAN . Iv'e seen so many videos where they just dump all the meat into a pan and it fills the pan , then you end up with the bottom layer steaming the top layer , and then you have moisture , and then wonder why there meat is boiling rather than searing . A very good video Keef .

Looks lovely,I'm trying this with pork tomorrow. I've found a Lard supplier here now and advised its healthier than all the cooking oils out there. If correct its far cheaper for us here in the Jungle at 50p per kilo

Looks so yummy! I haven't tried the oven finish, but the crispy top sounds so appealing I just have to try that tonight as I had already planned beef stew and dumplings. Yum!

I put lentils in mine.   Normally have to think 2 days in advance by soaking my lentils first. With Baked beans mmmmm I like mine really thick with chunky carrots.
