Please don't call that crap goulash. Call it stew, call it whatever you want, but don't call it Goulash. Hungarian goulash is soup, not stew.
Anyone who grew up in Hungary, around Hungary, or travelled through Hungary and tried the traditional Hungarian goulash knows that.

My Mom and my Grandmother came here from Ireland and I had this twice a month as a child, although their version had potatoes instead of pasta (sometimes if things were good it had ground pork instead of beef). They always swore this was some old Irish dish, to me this was somewhat questionable with the name Goulash, doesn't sound Irish does it? Anyway now that i have seen your video I wish they were alive so we could have a chat.

Grandfather the big lawyer was so enamored with ranch life he photographed and oil painted the 1970 ORO roundup. Charlie Greene had sold out after over 100 years. I have dozens of photos and oil paintings of the events … What a piece of history… And I have Ralph Chapman our cook handing Ringo his plate … Ralph went to town 3 times…WW1 …WW2 ….and once to get a bottle and hooker at the palace bar at 86 years old sold his guns and leathers and went with a smile on his face . The hooker was horrified for awhile but we took him back to ORO and planted him just where he wanted… To be close to his only cowboy family for all time….Amen
Prescott is cowboy capitol of the world . I lived in Forest Hills . My next door neighbor invented TV Ralph George …I have photos of him at Charlie Greenes last roundup. Next door to him was Palmquist …he invented JPL SETI… further up the creek to Butte Canyon Dr. was Mary Donelly the first Betty Crocker ! I liked doing her yard and delivering her paper for the cookies and treats which I grew fat on… To good a service. So huffing those papers up top of thumb Butte in Circle P Dr. Mrs Schwinn lived at the top. My grandma Long was the best cook and with mother at her side we at three multicourse meals since a hundred years ago and she passed in 1980. October started the Westinghouse roaster and the ovens and stove filled orders to over 150 families and the rail kaw office and everyone they knew up the track. It started with tons full of cookies pies nuts and sweetmeats…This went on till Jan 2 or so and year down the lights and ornaments… Which took a couple days . So well fed I grew into s seven foot giant in my boots. Same size as Hulk Hogan same stats 24" arms 36 inch thighs bench 500…I owe my family a lot ….they were all centenarians till grandma started using hydrogenated oils and such like margarine and dead oils. She went early at 78… Please please listen…use Moroccan olive oil or at least the highest polyphenol levels and you live to 120…She went of ovarian cancer… Now I know the recipe to cure cancer. If I didn't I wouldn't be here. I want everyone to know it. I'm stuck in the big city now and have had to learn how to save myself as these jaspers are all nuts brother . I tell and save as Many as will listen. Mr Kent. I was raised on cast iron. When I started trying to buy the cast iron. It has been horrible. No matter what I do or how I sear , no matter what it is sticking. Please tell me where I can get real cast iron that works! Thank you Lisa Mendenhall!
In New Hampshire we called it American Chop Suey.
Cowboy Kent….you have inspired me into getting into dutch oven cooking! This coming spring I'm going to get one and learn. It will be great for camping, hunting and target shooting trips. Your recipes look amazing and I want to taste them for myself! Keep up the good work!
If this scenery isn't around Lubbock cotton country, I'll be damned. BTW – cooking tomatoes or other acidic food in cast iron is a good way to get iron into your system. Will it hurt your cast iron? Yeah it might over 50 to 100 years if that bothers you.

Wow, brings back fond memories of my Mommas cooking. Her side of the Family were cotton farmers around Lubbock, TX. Hale Center, TX to be exact. I learned so much from them as I would as a little girl GET to stay with them every summer. My Aunties taught me alot in the kitchen. My Dad was in the Air Force and stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX. Mom made "the best" goulash EVER. Hers was very simple tho unless your and I prefer your better BUT just Moms was memories 🥰 I know those Cowboys couldn't wait for your yummy cooking and corn bread is the best…. I have lived in Monterey, CA for 50 years now due to my husband being stationed here at Ft. Ord🥰
