Love the way you made the beans and the rice in the 2nd dish. I will be trying. Also, saving that chicken fat from the air fryer…..genius!!! I usually heat my tortillas on both sides in the pan 1st. Then I take them out assemble and then put them back in to crisp/brown them up!

If you're struggling, please reach out to local food pantries in your area. If they say that they're out of food and aren't serving the community right now, ask if they can refer you to another pantry. Also ask if they have vouchers for food or other services.

If you're disabled and struggling, call your doctor's office and ask to be referred to a social worker if you don't already have one. They may be able to assist you and serve as an advocate. If you are on State benefits (food stamps) don't hesitate to contact your state caseworker for assistance. Most state welfare offices have websites with contact info.

Guys! Take advantage of your local food bank!! They always give away some sort of meat, most of the time chicken, canned veggies, tomato sauce, tons of veggies, bread, milk, sometimes eggs, and pasta. And just buy what you need. The best way to avoid the tortilla breaking when you fold it over is by putting a few in the microwave for like 5-7 secs to steam them and makes them flexible and they won't break. Either put them in a tea towel or keep them in a container to keep them moist so you don't lose that flexibility.

Kudos kudos ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ. Wow I will try all of these with or without a budget. Great ideas! I hope you see this as I thought it was great that you gave ingredient work arounds. Our pantrys are not the same, but there are some staples that every kitchen 'should' have whether fresh or powder. Looking for that green seasoning!

The one thing I never have are grits. Do you think canned chick peas or perhaps cous cous seasoned as the grits?

Lastly. Tacos! Warm the tortillas in micro, oven, or pan prior to working with them. Keep them in warmer or covered while working. You have given me an idea of adding a little of the oil from chicken/bacon kinda mimicing a barria to crisp. My Latin pantry would use corn tortillas, different cheese, crema, and a bowl of those beans. Thank you for the ideas!!

I believe many are going through a tough time. I say bulk up on beans and rice. Buy your can meats from the Dollar store ( tuna, chicken, pork, makeral), you can get fruit, frozen veggies and skillet dinners at your local Dollar Tree store, you can also buy condiments. Pantrys give away food aswell, like you said, it is good to know your local pantries. I split my meats. EX: (half the 3lb hamburger loaf for maidrite etc and the other half for spaghetti), you can do it with any meats, half a loaf or pork loins for pork chops/half for pork roast. Soups can stretch, casseroles stretch. Ramen Noodles can be used as a main dish (add some of your favorite ingredients.) Rice can be used as a one and done meal with just adding some beefstock, ground beef and seasoning and you have rice a roni (add veggies on the side.) Gotta be creative.

Great meal ideas. Thanks for sharing. This is the kind of thing people need to come together on. And for those of us that can share or have the privilege to spare food or even grocery shop, check on friends and neighbors, the elderly and see if you can be a blessing/donate to local shelters and pantrys. Charity starts at home. We have to take care of eachother in difficult times.

I am a diligent store circular user. Whenever my Meijer store has its โ€œ10/10โ€ specials, I stock up on 10 different products including frozen veggies, bell peppers, fruits and canned Rotel products among other things.

Would frozen veggies be cheaper? I used to buy frozen veggies just bc we donโ€™t eat them fast enough, and theyโ€™re still pretty reasonable compared to fresh produce

Your tortillas must be made soft so they won't break when you try to fold them. It doesn't matter if they are made of flower or corn. You can warm them in a pan, wrap and microwave in a damp towel. You can also dip the corn one's in hot oil. Love and Aloha from Honolulu Hawaii.

Frozen vegetables are cost effective for veggies if you can't afford fresh. If you want fresh then pick bunches and bags instead of getting them individually unless it's a veggie you don't use alot of.

You needed to put the tortillas in the fat, grease, or oil first! When you buy tortillas they're not really fresh enough to be pliable for the tacos ๐ŸŒฎ! When you put them in oil we are talking about 10 seconds on each side. Take them out and let them drain on a paper towel to absorb the excess oil!! Then you can fill the tortilla with any filling you want!!! Hope this helps!!! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿง๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸฅฐโœŒ๏ธโค๐Ÿ™

This video was real as hell ๐Ÿ˜‚. Now I typically don't make a lot of meals out of the same ingredients but I do budget and I DO shop in the meat and bakery markdowns. I'm grateful for videos like this for ideas and honestly the creativity is very entertaining (along with your commentary lol). The struggle meal was struggling but it for sure looks like something taco bell will serve you ๐Ÿ˜…

Sell relieves are some of the most flavor pacvegetables you could use to jazz up soups, Is broths, And even salads. BTW if you grow herbs herbs or potted vegetables one of the best plant foods you can use is to save up all of your scraps and pray them with water in your bland use that to pour into the pots. It's like a Lazy man's way of compostand trust me the plants love it!. Probably one of the only good things to come out of all this insane insane inflation is that we are all learning how to cut back on food waste.
