I'm going to give this soup a try. It would be great to incorporate more meatless meals into our repertoire….without complaints from hubby. This soup just may do it. Thanks for the recipe, Kris!

Oh no darn that salsa lid, I hate when I do something like that! I call those my one brain cell on life support coding blonde moments. I love tacos never had soup. Girl if it's in my freezer and I unthaw it if it looks, smells, and feel right we eat it. Our grand parents never had dates.

I'm still trying to catch up from my computer fiasco so I didn't see those comments (probably a good thing knowing me) however, most canners hold to once you boil your food for 10 minutes its safe from botulism. Now if you smell your food and it smells off, throw it away. Boiling doesn't fix rotten or spoiled food. I really don't worry about my frozen foods because I don't eat raw meat. If its freezer burnt, it taste funny so I throw that away. I've had frozen food in my freezer that was vacuum sealed for 3 years that was just as good as the day I bought it. Normally I try to use the stuff in my freezer within a year to 18 months but every once in a while I miss something. I wouldn't keep anything that I thought might hurt my kids or my grandkids. Some folks are overly cautious and thats fine. Their kitchen… their rules… But no one should criticized anyone else for not following what someone else does in a kitchen that isn't even theirs. I better get motivated. Got to get cortisone shots in both knees today. Fun Fun.

Thank you, Kris! As you say, your kitchen, your rules! Taco soup sounds and looks delicious! Some rice dishes to try: chicken and rice casserole with condensed cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup, rice pudding, beef stew with rice, instead of potatoes, fried rice with meat and/or vegetables, and, of course. porcupine meatballs! God bless you, my friend. Praying that your channel keeps growing. 😊

This looks amazing 😊 cornbread on the side would put it over the top. If food looks and smells fine I will eat it no matter how old. Just me. Pinto beans are my favorite beans. Blessings dear friend ❤❤

Soup recipe looked good, but I'm with you. I would love to add pinto beans.😋 Husband would have to add meat.

We have eaten many older meats from freezer & never a problem. Different strokes as they say. I appreciate you letting us speak our opinions.👍

Foods that are vacuum sealed lasts a looooong time. Freezer burned I thinkwould be safe if cooked for animals. Soup looks good. Needs cornbread. Everything is better with cornbread.😁❤ and fritos
