I always wondered how they prepared flowers, etc to look so nice. You not only provided a wonderful recipe but answered a question I've really been curious about! Thank you! (I've been trying borage but wasn't sure what to do with the flowers.)

This cake looks beautiful and delicious. I especially appreciate all the little bits of information that you give in passing. I am in my 60s, and I have learned so much I never knew from you, even though I started cooking as a girl. Thank you so much for your beautiful videos. I will keep my eye out for your new book. I love apple butter, btw.

Hi John! I'm so excited to get my book and start making your delicious recipes!! Do you have a favorite gluten free flour? My sister is allergic to gluten, but I want her to enjoy your cakes and pies. Thanks!

You said, "Some salts are supper salty". Wouldn't it be better to just explain that kosher contains less salt per measure, because the crystals are a larger size and less 'mass' will fit in a teaspoon than table salt?

I was afraid of burning my butter and I took it off too soon, twice! 🥴😒 I kept saying to myself, "Self, this does not look right", as it was cooling. I just didn't see those "specks" like in this video… I actually YouTubed another video on how to brown butter properly that really helped. I finally got the specks, without burning it, and without pulling it off too soon. Needless to say, I know how to brown butter AND make an amazing cake with amazing frosting! Toodles! 👋

So she bought some better butter
    Better than the bitter butter,
And she put it in her batter
And her batter was not bitter,
    So ’twas better Betty Botter
Bought a bit of better butter

This cake takes 2 days to prep I see. There are many things you need to make in advance, apple butter is annoying to make. I am going to make this on Sunday and I will come back. That means I have to prep brown butter and apple butter and crystalized thyme leaves on Saturday… Yea I will be back here on monday or sunday night bro.

OMG I made some cookies with Chestnuts and thyme once in highschool and all of my… European teachers really enjoyed my flavors. Homies in da good hood didnt like them so much until I added icing. But I would love to make this cake, and see your book! And maybe buy it too.
