Happy Thanksgiving! This is the first time I'm seeing you and you brought back wonderful memories of my mom in the kitchen, she used to have homemade canned goods, could make a delicious meal out of very little using what she had in her pantry, she used to guess at measurements and taste while cooking and didn't panic when you ran short you made it work. Thank You I love watching videos like your's 💞🥰

I think our non holiday turkey's run over $2/lb; USA in the USA. I found a place that has the gigantic, turkey drumsticks and they are $1.99/ lb. Elsewhere, pre 2022 inflation, the smaller drumsticks and wings generally sell at about $3.49/ lb and are sold for making stock.

there was no chance to be frugal for Thanksgiving this year. turkeys didn't go any cheaper than $2/lb which sounds insane compared to the price range we're used to of $.50/lb. we made due. there's leftovers for lunches today and probably enough for leftover dinner tonight so says my husband.

Back in the late 70's my first five loaves of whole wheat bread turned out so heavy, I dried them out, varnished them, tied a pretty ribbon around them and gave as door stop gifts. Now, we do make bread dough ornaments.
