The apple butter sounds really interesting – could you let us know where we can find a recipe for it, please. So sorry to hear about your bad back. It is awful because it affects everything you do -if I don't do my yoga exercises everyday or if it rains a lot I too suffer with a bad back.

My mum had sciatia and the Dr told her to put a hot water bottle on the area and then cold ice packs, so alternating with hot and cold, she said it helped. When I had a lot of green tomatos I madengreen tomato marmalade, I got the recipe off YouTube and it is delicious! Hope you manage to get everything done.

We wrapped our green tomatoes in newspaper and put in cupboard. The paper puts off a gas that turns thr tomatoes red. Takes several days but works a treat.

In the US we use Tylenol extra strength or paracetamol in UK. Also bend and touch your toes and stretch your right thigh muscle. Otherwise you just have to ride it out. Oh…a lovely hot soak in tub should help as well.
