Delicious looking meal Jane, I'm looking forward to trying this one….I've never heard of Sarah Brown as I don't think her show ever made it here in Australia, a lady before her time though I think.

I am going to get this book now. This looks so good. I usually cook my vegetarian meals from Cafe Flora cook book. They are the most amazing delight to put in your mouth. But take days of planning. So a few delicious veggie meals that are faster is just the ticket. Thank you so much for this video and the wonderful recommendation.

I’ve just ordered the paperback of the recipe book from Amazon for £2.80. I’m a 15 year vegan but I’m yet to find the best nut roast, so I’m looking forward to trying it. Thank you 💐

Hi Jane. That's a lovely recipe. Would you May be film some other recipes from that book?
I remember Sarah Brown well. I did a bit of digging but couldn't find anything about her apart from her year of birth which was 1952 so she would be 70 now.

I’ve been vegetarian for about two years, now. My husband and I had always had a couple of meat free meals a week so it was an easy change to no meat for me. I love this red dragon pie though I have used other beans.

I love Sarah Brown, the other I love is Rose Elliott, she has a wealth of tips, to use beans and lentils, bulk cooking and freezing. When I was a young mum, and no spare money, we bought our youngsters up on her Mother and Baby book!! I still make the recipes 30 years later!!

    Lovely recipe Jayne
But I won’t put it in the oven as would put up the price to much unless the dish would fit in my air fryer

That looks good, I’ll have to try it. Thanks for sharing your version of Sarah’s recipe.

I actually grew some adzuki beans in my garden so I will cook them to use in this recipe.

My favourites from that book are country style hot pot, I change the veg to whatever is to hand but we love the little cheesy dumplings and I also love the cheese and lentil loaf.

I just ordered the book at Better World Books. They have her other books too. Several of the books ship from the UK. I love BWB's mission – see their info on their site.

Thank you for this recipe. I used to have that book many years ago (30+), and I made this recipe often. I somehow lost the book and regret it. I remember it being very tasty and satisfying. I'm going make it again now, thanks to you. I now make Rose Elliot's Bolognese recipe, which is also frugal and satisfying, and it can be used either in a shepherd's pie or on pasta. Just the trick for when winter comes.
