DOH!
Mine had an encounter with a stove burner that got accidentally turned on for a moment. So it no longer has a bottom cover… oops! It's the R2-D2 model too, so finding replacement plastic that matches isn't as simple as buying a broken standard one for parts. I guess if I ever make the same mistake it will be easier to drain it.
If this ever happens again take it to you local engine builder and have them put in the hot tank with engine blocks and heads it will clean it up in a jiffy. This process removes all traces of chicken soup , Please post on You tube after you plug it back in after cleaning.
Nice design. I'm guessing the polished foil backing is a deflective heat shield. Surprised there's no insulation stuffed around the empty space between the outer pot and the main pot. Not very efficient. Might save some money insulating that 🤔
Saw the hundred screws and though there was no way they put that many into there, would be too much assembly time. Yup, put only 4 out of the pile in there, about right.
I got my 8qt instant pot at the ridiculous price of $45 back in 2017 just after Christmas because the grocery store was trying to move them and mismarked this one in a group of 4qt pots. I didn't even know how much they cost back then but I was amused by them and wanted to try one. Probably one of the best kitchen gadgets I've ever owned, but I just hope it lasts a long time.
My 1st. repair of 2023 was 7.00am on the 1st when 2 slots of my 4 slot toaster failed. Luckily only some 'debris' on the open interlock contacts, always empty the crumb trays out first if you're going to turn it upside down to clean it!! 👍☺
Oops! Well, i never had an instant pot, so I'm intrigued. I might want one. (And try not to make the same oops). Interesting! I wished you let us see you test it.
Those are a good choice for someone who wants to do a bit of pressure cooking for things like beans – takes some guesswork out of it and the results appear to be pretty consistent when I tested these multi-cookers. I work much better with gas stove and good cooking vessels including modern pressure cookers which are pretty fool proof as well.. (instant) but I can see the appeal especially who want something hearty but don't really like to cook or has to manage a meal plan on the go. I have tried the airfryers..and they have a limited use as well IMO – they are good for -re-frying already fried (in fat) items or something like frozen breaded items – french fries pretty awesome , but nothing like a good fat fry into properly heated grease .
Instant pot is daily use for me….Same one over the last six years. No complaints honestly….Cool to see you tear into one though! I've got to imagine there's a whole other repair universe on these out there on the web. Never had to check it out (fingers crossed)….Things are worth every penny based on my six year experiment!

So lucky to have a good repairman around the house.
Never mind, it sounds like you got away with it.
The worst result would be to open your wallet 😀
Ready for some KFC

Gone are the days of just a bimetalic strip in cooking appliances controls.
You could clean it with alcohol around the electrics with the board out

Lucky the soup didn't short out the backlights!! Oh right – not a TV this time! 🤣🤣

No use in crying over spilled soup.
Is it an IH (induction heating) cooker?
I'm sure this happens all the time !!!!!!

Next I would like to see complete restoration of one of your vintage tape decks after a pot of soup has been spilled in it.

Maybe clean the soup residue with denatured alcohol and wipe out with a rag to get rid of the smell, and voila!, soups on !! Lol 😆
Those slow cookers make good dinners….I use one as well.
