Thank you, I have been looking for a vegetarian alternative recipe for my 15 bean soup. I use onions, bell peppers and two packs of kielbasa sausage. I just found out that my blood pressure is too high. I am really glad that I found this new recipe to use.
80 minutes of pressure cooking over cooks the bean.Even the hardest of all beans, dry chickbeans, only takes 45 minutes to cook on maximum pressure.
Looks amazing!! I'm definitely buying a pressure cooker. Can't believe I haven't thought about that before.
I would still wash the organic greens before using and soaking the beans overnight or the quick soak method in the instant pot is a good idea.
This surely looks really good, thanks. I will try this.
did you say you cooked it for 80 minutes? I cook my 15 bean soup for 35 minutes with natural release in the IP and it's well done.
The Ham Bean brand of 16 bean soup is the best I have found and the cleanest beans also. I still wash them of course but they really good beans. I make the same soup as you but change the spices slightly as my eight year old grandson does not care for the spice, he will learn. The beans I cook I only cook for 40 minutes then add the kale and carrots and pepper. Your bean and kale soup looks wonderful and I know it is delicious. Thanks for posting this and I have enjoyed many of your recipes. Thanks Kathy. You are a fine cook.
Hi Kathy. This soup looks great. Can I confirm the coking time for the beans is 80 minutes? I am new to the IM, what setting, manual?
great video makes me hungry
yummmmmm
Are you saying 80 minutes in the beginning?? I really want to make this! 🙂
Using the pressure cooker sure beats soaking the beans over night and cooking them for 4 hours. Thanks for this nice recipe.
Looks delicious Kathy I'll take a big bowl please.
This looks so good. Is the Curry seasoning you used super spicy hot? Like Cayenne pepper hot?
Great video, but a word of caution. when you cook beans from dried, you must always add 1/4 cup of vegetable oil to your beans and water to keep the beans from foaming up. that foam will clog your pitcock (pressure air valve) and ruin your pressure cooker. Thanks for posting! Take care and God bless!
Do you really need to drain the beans when they are cooked the first time
I haven't used curry much. I love the 15 bean soup pkg, have made with ham (without using their enclosed spice pkg) in my pressure cooker XL. How spicy did this recipe turn out? It looks delicious, but I might have to turn down the heat.
