I'm digging that chopper!!!
Bob your stew looks delicious.
Should beef be browned off for a stew? Ive never found any different in not browning first when using a slow cooker, but would people recommend browning the beef when using and instant pot to pressure cook a stew?
Rob! You're amazing. I'm making this next weekend . It's cold here in NY.
Why two cycles. And not just one?
Just let es ok
Maybe you could cook the beef for a cycle then add the veg for the second?
Ty
What's the name of the chopper? I want one.
You can cook for me anytime….looks wonderful…Thanks for the recipe! I just love my pressure cooker and would be lost without it.
can you cook cornbread and tamale pie in electric pressure cooker?
I suggest you put that chopper away and use a chef's knife to chop. It's faster and more practical.
Hi Robert, Just wanted to know which pressure cooker is your favorite?
good job
"I'm just going to touch this raw meat and then proceed to touch every other surface in my kitchen…"
I am looking for a recipe for meat ball frozen with noodles
not really what I would call a beef stew. It looks more like a beef veggie soup
I love thank… I will use it
does look good and easy now I wantpressure cooker 🙂
nice demo. but pressure cookers are a last resort for a good cook. never the same as a slow cooked roast
Why did you add the Coconut Oil? Was it for personal taste or for a not stick substance for cleaning later?
Awesome. Thank you so much 🙂
To: Bob Bogetti,      Thank you for your Beef Stew recipe using the pressure cooker, What a great video.                                                                             Thank you,                                                                                Frank.
I'm a lazy cook. If I wanted to use frozen mixed vegetables instead of fresh, when would I add them?
Great show, how do you like your pressure cooker. I'm in the market a purchasing one
Hi, where did you get that manual chopping appliance?
I bought the Tramontina Sam's Club pressure cooker tonight and found your video at the top of the list, thank you. I am going to take your suggestion of double pressuring. I have that same water filter, if it is ProPur.
Last Saturday we were in the grocery store and they had pork but roasts for $ 1.00 lb.
I picked up one. I seasoned it and put it on my Char-Broil Grill for about 1 1/2 hour.
I turned the middle burner off and put the two on each side so the temp of the grill was about 250-280 degrees.
I even poured some honey on the pork butt for flavor.
It cooked and cooked turning it maybe 2-3 times.
It was looking great. Then I put it into my 6 quart Power Pressure cooker for 40 minutes.
You talk about goood ! Man it came out fork tender !
I have one of those steamer baskets you see, the kind where you spread open and put into a 6-8 quart pot. It fits nicely into the Power Pressure cooker. I steamed some carrots, broccoli and squash for about 2 minutes each. The vegetables came out just right !
This fall I am going to get out my wood smoker and smoke/cook the roasts about 4 hours and then put them into the Power Pressure Cooker. The mesquite or pecan wood would really add the smoked flavor to the meat !
Great video on the beef stew, Bob! I really like your personality as well!
Adding a slurry of water and flower/corn starch will thicken things up, otherwise you have soup, rather than stew.
Where do you get the chopper? It's not even on amazon. And there is no link here.
Why would you not brown the meat in the pot first? The ensuring gravy would be much more flavorful, and less greasy if you drained any rendered fat. I juzt ordered this cooker in 8 qt. Yours looks like a 10 qt.
I like that you suggest longer cooking times for pressure cooking meat. Nothing more disappointing than tough meat.
chef bob you don't need 31 seconds intro
In my electric pressure cooker now – with McCormicks Beef Stew Seasoning mix – why hassle when it's already done? – of course added fresh onions, celery, carrots and red potato's. Â These cooker's are amazing and easy! Â Not your grandma's for sure! Looking forward to this. Â Thanks for sharing. Â All recipes are easy and versatile depending on your tastes…just experiment. Â Well done!
Like your videos. Â Which culinary school did you go to? Â My son is interested in cooking.
fabulous place to start but I would encourage anyone new trying their hand at pressure cooking a beef stew to tweak this just a tad. first off, use beef broth, not water. next, brown the meat quickly before starting the cooker and last, cook the meat with the tomatoes, seasoning and one thickly cut onion for 18 minutes, then open and add your potatoes, celery and carrots for an additional 18 minutes.
where to buy choppe?
No beef bullion cube…I think I would add that and brown my meat a bit first…doing it tonight so we can have it for the lovely storm that is about to hit us
You are right. He should brown the meat but different people do it differently.
I just got the Power Pressure Cooker and love it. It is soooooo FAST !
As for the salad chopper I have been using mine for 2 years and love it.
They are hard to find on the internet but worth the searching on the internet.
You want to get the one he has. It has two sizes of cutting blades. It is easy
to clean up and keeps all the ingredients in one big bowl !
Winter time is soup and stew weather with home made corn bread Yum Yum !
Thanks Robert for sharing. I just received my Pressure Pro today and made beef ribs, that turned out fantastic. Â Found the chopper and have it on order. I want to give your beef stew a go.
Aren't you supposed to sear the meat before proceeding? Â And afterwards aren't you supposed to drain it? Â By dumping the meat in raw all that fat & grease is in the cooker. Â NOT healthy eating.
I just got an electric pressure cooker and have some questions – 1) can you use the spice packets like McCormick's or do they become too intense in the PC? Â 2).Can you use canned veg? I'm thinking those veg are so soft, if you use them, you should wait until the end and just let them get warmed up by the stew? 3) have you ever used a tub of the Knorr stock? How do you think that would work? I love a lot of flavor and use a lot of spices on my own, but I do like the McCormick's line for a consistent flavor. However, I think I'm afraid that the PC will intensify commercial flavorings too much, especially make it taste too salty. I could be completely nuts on this one, so feel free to school me. Â Nice video; like everyone else, I loved the veg chopper.Â
