Nice
4:54 – when she starts seasoning
3 teaspoons of salt
2 teaspoons garlic powder
Then stir,
Taste (add more salt if needed)
1/4 corn oil
She forgot the re-fried part.
You should soak the beans overnight for fast cooking
I also just add shredded cheese and onion to the beans after theyre cooked and done simmering and before mashing them basically bean soup yumm!
too bland
Also, whole fat coconut oil is light-years better than corn oil. Extra salt, too!
Don't throw away good beans! If they aren't shaped right, or float, they are still good food. Could have grown a whole plant. Don't waste, is silly! Great recipe!
Avacado oil!! Corn oil is bad for you!
In regards to the flavor tip, do you mean that we should use that oil instead of the corn oil or should we use it in addition to the corn oil?
Don't you WORRY about GMOS? I have never used corn oil in my life. Maybe I can find organic non GMO corn oilThey look really good.
I've yet to find rocks in my beans
Unless you vacuum pack them then they're fine
So, I Googled 'Refried beans'; I eventually ran across your YouTube channel and this video. Having recently purchased a 12-lb bag o' pinto beans from Sam's Club, seemed that refried might be a tasty alternative. Have yet to try out your recipe here but given I have that exact same pot your using as well as a somewhat similar gas stove and all the ingredients called for, I'm feeling hopeful not to mention inspired.
I know two people who make their beans with bacon grease and it's fabulous. I think I will try that next time.
Not refried, these are boiled, then mashed beans, not even close to real home refried beans! This is criticism from a person who has been cooking refried beans when these commenters who say everyone has their way to make refried beans and their parents weren't even born, their called refried for reason, and there is a right way and a wrong way to do things, and if you think that because someone has been doing something wrong for a long time makes their way right, then your an example of ignorance. And no, I'm not unhappy or any amateur psychologist conclusions about my mental state. And anyone criticizing my comments, are examples of the kettle calling the pot black.
OK, 1. I pre-soak the beans. 2. I add the oil to a cast iron skillet, then add minced onion, fry until lightly golden. 3. Add the beans, spices and water. 4. cook them down, mash them, then 5. I fry them with diced onion and Mexican 3-cheese, then serve them with Salsa, sour cream, black olives, and just enough finely chopped cilantro to make pretty.
Why so much salt, that’s like 7000 mg of sodium.
ps no taste difference wether adding oil like you do or doin an extra step and ladle out beans and heat in oil in cast iron skillet for no additional benefit in taste just sayin great job robin your beans rockkkkk
made these beans for the 10 th time .,..,., they are the best on youtube
So glad I came across your video! I have been looking for an easy and tasty refried beans recipe. Thanks 👍
You need to add bacon grease to the beans. Oil has no flavor for beans. It’s just for frying and making things Christy.
There are rocks in the packaging?! OMG I'm boiling them now and didn't think I needed to check for that! UGH! #FirstTimeAnyKindOfBeanMaker
And before anyone asks I found a recipe somewhere else and it sounded good but I'm still looking for others just to see. Guess it's a good thing I'm making this just for me. LOL
