Hi! I’m new to your channel, and really appreciate you and your teaching videos. My daughter and I are both new to the Instant Pot cooking style.

I just sent her this video. I was texting her about it, and asked if she wanted me to share the link. She promptly replied “YES!” I subscribed, too. I’ve been watching your channel for a while, and I think you’re doing a terrific job!

May I add my mistake? Prior to getting my IP I made yogurt by heating my milk on a gas stove. When I got my IP my first attempt at making yogurt was to heat the milk in the IP using the sautee function. Not realizing that the IP was going to heat much faster than my gas stove I sit down to watch TV. The milk boiled over and ran down into the electrical components. I cleaned as much as I could but the internals in the base still have burned milk on them. My IP still works but every time I use it I have to endure the stench of burned milk.

I have searched and searched for steel cut oats to purchase. I can only find groats. Can I purchase these instead? I know they are different. Not certain if they are quick oats. If you have a product you buy, could you please send me the link?

Thanks for the tips. I have an instant pot, but to date still have not used it. Sounds like I really have to be super caregul. I have tomorrow's dinner already in the crockpot!

I always enjoy your videos, and you are always delightful. I'm sure you worked hard to tell us all this, but I just can't bring myself to make any of these mistakes. Sorry. But I am looking forward to your next one.

I'm impressed with the quality of your YouTube video's audio. So clear. I think I see a remote microphone! Thank you! (Poor audio is one of my pet peeves; i.e. background noise, etc.) Oh–and thank you for the helpful tips.

So how do you cook 1 cup of steel cut oats in the Instant Pot? How do you know how much water to put in the bottom of the Instant Pot and how much in the bowl/pot the oats are in?

I like steel cut oats and try to do PIP for all grains and rice. But there are not enough recipes for PIP.

Karen, I really appreciate your recipes, explanations, and all the content you produce here. Are you here only for 365 days? I'd hate to see you leave; I only just found you a relatively short time ago, and would like to keep you coming back like you do now. Thanks for all your work and low-key instructions! : )

One major point I took away was the last one. Sometimes a pressure cooker isn't always the answer. Larger quantities of cube potatoes and chicken will probably take less time on a stove.
