Hi Hannah! I am living in France, in the french alps. Being vegan in a cold climate is not that complicated yeah I must say! Sometimes things are SO expensive, and you can't really have your garden. But, still, I am fulfilled, so glad and happy to be vegan, even in the cheese country, and being surrounded by fondue ! Thank you so much vos your content <3
Not sure what time you eat breakfast but I swim every morning at 7am then head to work at 8am I most likely have a light breakfast after all that exercise those that you,ve made to heavy for me maybe lunchtime or dinner ideas be fine for me loved those breakfast cookies you made once for your camping trip they were great đđ»
those all looked like baby food
It's cold in Scotland at the moment Hannah and it's not stopped me and others who have decided to be vegan. Thanks for debunking the myth that you need to live in a hot & warm climate to be vegan. Love đ„° the video and love đ Hannah.
Australia is great for veganism in the large cities- country Australia not so much âčïž. Also although itâs summer now our winters can be cold.
Vegan family of 4 from Ontario, Canada. We were at about -35 degrees Celsius (with windchill) last week! I wish we had an abundance of fresh local produce year round but that definitely isnât the case! Warm breakfasts are hardâŠlots of warm oats here.
Vegan and live in Nashville Tennessee! Endless options in food!
I live in Northern Wyoming. It's pretty damn cold here for about 5 months of the year. It's also a very non-progressive place, so eating out is basically out of the question, and there's very few "vegan" brands in stores. I haven't eaten meat in about 10 years, and cut out dairy about 7 years ago. It's definitely doable even here, although it's much more fun in the summer with all the cold fresh fruit, smoothies, and salads.
3 years vegan and living in Texas!
Kitchari is pronounced kit chuh ree
FREEZING! Michigan. Been eating vegan for over 4 years now. Fresh sweet fruit is not always economical outside of bananas, citrus, and pineapple, but there are plenty of veggies around! Plus, in the summer months, I freeze berries and applesauce when they are in season and more affordable to use in the winter and spring months. đ
Hi Hannah, I am very intrested, cause I learned: our body can only use the fat-soluble vitamins if we absorb them together with fat. So I always use little bit of oil with my veggies. What do you think?đ
When you say words that a lot of us non vegans may not know like âmilletâ and âcompoteâ it can be off putting and discouraging because itâs intimidating when you use words we donât recognize and makes it sound hard to be a vegan!
Vegan in MontrĂ©al, QuĂ©becđ„¶
Actually there are so many things to cook for breakfast that oatmeal is the last thing I make in the winter.
I'm vegan for over 3 years now and I just moved to Trondheim in Norway for studying. I feel like it's not hard to be a vegan here and they actually have amazing vegan brands like Oatly and Kolonihagen if I ever crave a coconut yoghurt for breakfast. I do feel like I tend to eat a warm porridge or at least a hot cup of tea for and with my breakfast more often. Keep doing what you are doing. Sending lots of love đ
Vegan from Wyoming here! I make Immys (sustainably vegan) baked beans recipe from I believe her winter recipe video all the time.
Thank you for the ideas. I struggle with Winter Meal Ideas as we have short, but chilly winters where I am. And nothing sounds good to me. I tend to make the same meal throughout the week, get bored of it, and move to a new dish the next week. Thank you for sharing! Vegetarian for 33 years and Vegan for the past 3 and half years.
I'm a vegan mum! I have two sons, both vegan, and we live in Sweden đžđȘ
Wow đ€© so cool ideas ! Thank you so much! I think on the bread with beans and spinach Sauerkraut would be delicious too đ greetings from Germany ! đ
I have been vegan for 5 years and I live in eastern Finland where it is really cold most of the year! Only time I eat raw/cold foods is during the summer. These foods looked so good, can't wait to try them out!
Vegan in Michigan đż
I've been vegan for about 6 years now and I've lived in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts during those years
Vegan in Maine!! With my sanctuary farm!!
We live in Minnesota and have been vegan for 4 years now. While it isnât easy to find vegan restaurants or fast food, you can of course have yummy nourishing whole plant foods anywhere with a grocery store. And, our local co-op and natural food stores do a pretty good job of supplying some fun, vegan options.
I'm in Texas- vegan!
My family and I are plant based vegetarians , and we are in Vegas and itâs very cold right now, thank you for these videos they help a lot đ
Beans really don't like me. At ~53°N (England), winter isn't too severe but I'm def. an omnivore, so entirely PB eating isn't an option.
Appleton, Wisconsin. Vegan almost 4 years and find it easy. Fruit may not be the best but try to buy seasonal and local as much as I can. Thank you for all your recipes and super tips Hannah!
Im vegeterian and in living in Spain. At the moment its really cold so this video is a dopeâ€
I will definitely try the sweet potato bowl! Kitchari for breakfast served with lime, cilantro, & a couple dollops of vegan yogurt is heavenly! Even better with rotis! Also, not to be a pronunciation stickler or âthat personâ, but just in case you want to know, kitchari is pronounced as kitch-a-ree with long a sound! Everything looks & sounds great âșïž
From Delaware, 6 years vegan â„ïžâ„ïž
Iâm vegan about 80% of the time and vegetarian for the other 20% (transitioning to vegan). I live in Maine and donât struggle with eating plant based during the winter. I tend to not crave the tropical fruit when itâs -15 anyways, so I donât feel like Iâm missing out. Root veggies, soups, and oatmeals are always so easy and taste good when itâs so cold out!
Vegan living in the Netherlands đłđ±
Vegan here in Wisconsin! 10 years this September!
I live in Canada, currently in a snow storm and stuck at home so i love that you posted. While I am not 100% vegan, I try to eat as close to all plant based as possible â€love from canada
My soulmate and I are ongoing vegans for over 6 years. We live in a cold state and love to make veggie soups during the winter months. đ Thank you for the delicious inspiration for new recipes. đ€€
I live in Michigan where the weather is crazy and vegan restaurants are sparse. The hardest part was initially changing my diet. Iâve been vegan for about 5 years now and it feels effortless for me. Doesnât hurt that there are so many vegan recipe ideas out there now.
I was vegan in Canada for several years but then realized I would never be able to approach self sufficiency (growing the majority of our own food) in this climate without the help of animals. It may be possible to be vegan here but a heavy reliance on imported foods from grocery stores is necessary as a result of our short growing season.
Northern Germany Here đââïžđââïž which has pretty meh weather most of the time. And I honestly eat oatmeal or granola most of the time đ or bread with jam, nut butter, hummus or some kind of veggie spread. So boring, I know, but always goodđ
Arkansas! Vegetarian for like 15 years and recently converted (thanks to you and your sister) vegan! And now that I am, I have no idea what took me so long to make the switch! Thank you for your inspiration!
These are great recipes, thank you! When I lived in Scotland I used to eat savoury oatmeal every day, cooked with curry powder, turmeric and other warming spices, along with spinach, peas and mushrooms. So delicious but wish I had some of these ideas back then as well!
I love steel cut oats for breakfast with fruit! I will have to try that compote.
Oh Hannah you are wonderful…i'll make one of these recipes soon, maybe on the weekend. I eat leftovers for breakfast too, when i feel like it.
